To celebrate the opening of the Main Arena on Friday 10th July and the first bands taking to the stages, the Red Bull Matadors aerobatic display team will be flying high over the T in the Park site when the gates open, with a display of daring manoeuvres.

The team, featuring top British pilots Paul Bonhomme and Steve Jones, will fly two Sukhoi 26 aircraft in a variety of formations and moves including the 'crossover' which involves them flying towards each other at a combined speed of 400mph.

Festival Director Geoff Ellis said, "With Fancy Dress Friday taking place on the ground and the Red Bull Matadors taking to the skies, we're looking forward to a fantastic festival opening. Paul and Steve will put on a phenomenal display, guaranteed to whet fans appetites for the tremendous weekend ahead."

T in the Park has a line-up of around 180 artists playing over the 12 stages including the headliners of Kings of Leon, The Killers, Blur, Snow Patrol, with other acts performing at the festival including The Specials, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, Manic Street Preachers, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Katy Perry, Razorlight, Noisettes, Elbow, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pendulum, Peter Doherty, White Lies, and more.
