White Lies, The Cribs, and British Sea Power are the first acts announced for The White Air Extreme Sports Festival which has moved from Yaverland Beach, on the Isle of Wight to a new home on Brighton Beach and runs from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th September 2009.

The first confirmed acts will lead a programme of other established acts and new talent. The three day event will have two nights of live music on the main live stage and fringe music venues, and parties alongside extreme sports, competitions, and displays such as World High Diving from a 30m tower into a 3m pool, Windsurfing, Thundercats, Jet Skis, Mixed Martial Arts, Scuba Diving, and more.

Nigel Howell, World Champion Windsurfer and Kitesurfer and White Air's Foundersaid, "We're so excited to be moving White Air to Brighton where we can reach a larger audience in an amazing beach side location less than an hour from London."

At White Air's core will be an Urban Freesports Park with the biggest and best ramps to be seen anywhere – more than ten sports including Skate, BMX, Inline, Parkour, Mountain bike, Mountain Board, Streetboard, Streetdance, Graff jams, and guaranteed adrenaline rushes for all.

Almost all of the 40 sports at White Air will have a 'Have a Go' element where visitors can watch top sports men and women, then have a go themselves with tuition from the world's best.

Sports competitions and displays will include Red Arrows displays, FMX, Surfing, Kitesurfing, Windsurfing, Slackline, Ropeboarding, Thundercats, Jet Ski, Aquathlon, Triathlon, London to Brighton road race, Sailing, High Diving, Streetboarding, Mini Moto, SUP, Mountain Board, Skateboard, BMX, Mountain Bike, Graffiti Street Wars, Parkour, Powerfan, Bocking, Trials Bike, Wakeboard, Beach Volley Ball, Mixed Martial Arts, Falcons Parachute displays, Streetdance, Scuba Diving, Gliding, Climbing, Assault Course, Zip Wire, Kayak, YoYoing... and more!
