Echo And The Bunnymen have written on their official website (here) that they will be appearing at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

Echo And The Bunnymen
The Eighties indie band fronted by Ian McCulloch say on their website that, "Echo & The Bunnymen are proud to announce that they will be headlining the 'John Peel Stage' at this years Glastonbury Festival - performing 'Ocean Rain'........... specific date to be announced soon."

The Liverpudlian band released 'Ocean Rain' in 1984, and from it spawned the hit singles 'The Killing Moon', 'Silver' and 'Seven Seas'.

The band's appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival has not been confirmed by Festival organisers.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival held for five full days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2009 at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset have already sold out months before the event.

Although the full line-up for this year's Festival has not yet been announced, To see who has been confirmed, and who might be playing take a look at the eFestivals' Glastonbury 2009 rumours >>.

A further release of a limited number of cancelled tickets will go on sale from 9am on Sunday 5th April 2009, although in order to do so you must have registered beforehand to be eligible to buy a ticket. However, it's unlikely that they'll be a huge number of tickets available on that day. They will be priced at £175 (plus a booking fee of £5).
