British Sea Power have been announced for a special Thursday performance at the Big Chill.

British Sea Power
British Sea Power will be performing a UK festival exclusive of a re-scoring of the classic film 'Man of Aran', as well as a live score to scenes from the award winning documentary about bird migratory patterns, 'Winged Migration'.

Thursday arrivals have also been invited to come dressed up as zombies to participate in a celluloid chiller, to be produced by Film4 and Warp Film's. They are preparing for the world's first and largest audience participation zombie movie, which will be shot over the four days of the festival. With a plot of dodgy drugs leaked into the water supply that turns peaceful festival-goers into rampaging, flesh-eating undead.

To get everyone in the mood where will be an all-nighter of classic zombie flicks. The result will be not only a downloadable movie after the festival, but it is hoped will also gain entry into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest number of zombies ever caught on camera.

Katrina Larkin, The Big Chill festival organiser, said, "Last year over half the chillers arrived for the festival on the Thursday, a day before the main music entertainment. So this year, to our excitement, and following an approach from the BFI, the British Sea Power project fitted into place for Thursday."

She added, "The Big Screen activities will be a lot of fun, and something a bit different. One thing is for sure - normally people look like zombies at the end of festivals, not the start!"

Over the rest of the festival, Film4 will also be bringing a Dereliction Drive-In, a field of deserted and abandoned cars (post-zombie attack?) among, on and in which Big Chillers may roam, sit and crash out. As screens play ghostly re-mixes of classic and imagined road movies, car stereos will crackle with soundtracks specially recorded by guest artists and DJs.

This year will also see the arrival of the new Film4 Cinema Tent, where a programme of road movies will accompany the Dereliction Drive-In installation. On the heels of 'Slumdog Millionaire', Film4 programmers will bring a night of classic Bollywood and Bollywood-inspired classics, and during the day there will be Bollywood dance classes to get festival goers in the mood.

The Big Chill which happens on Friday 7th until Sunday 9th August at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire offers both families and ravers a diverse range of music including folk, jazz, African, dub, and unique collaborations; as well as art, films, poetry, cabaret, kids spaces, comedy, and literature.

Big Chill is promising even more fields next year, meaning more campsites, car parks and better facilities too. The new car park layout promises shorter walks from car to campsites.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £129, teen tickets (13 to 17 years old) are priced at £60, and kid (12 and under) are £4. There is also a National Express festival ticket & travel: £155 (only available from National Express).
