The Glaswegian quartet, currently in the charts with the single 'Ulysses' from their new album 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand', have confirmed in their tour dates on both the website, and the band's MySpace that they will be appearing at the Festival on the Saturday.

The band who also played at last year's Festival on the Friday at The Park Stage also made an appearance at last year's Pilton Equinox Party in September. At that performance the band had a temporary line-up after drummer Paul Thomson had to return to Glasgow because his wife had gone into labour. Instead the band were joined by Festival organiser Emily Eavis' boyfriend, Nick Dewey, who played drums with them during a few of their hits.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival held for five full days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2009 at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset have already sold out months before the event.

Although the line-up for this year's Festival has not yet been announced, to see who might be playing, take a look at the eFestivals' Glastonbury 2009 rumours >>.

A second release of tickets will be available from 9am on Sunday 5th April 2009, although in order to do so you must have registered beforehand to be eligible to buy a ticket. However, it's unlikely that they'll be a huge number of tickets available on that day. They will be priced at £175 (plus a booking fee of £5).

Online registration is still available and can be carried out by clicking here. Those without internet access can apply for a registration form (enclosing an SAE) to Glastonbury, PO Box 2445, Glasgow G40 9AG. Registration will close from 5pm on Tuesday 31st March before the next main ticket selling period.

The ticket price includes includes a FREE programme, a useful cloth bag, and small around the neck guide. Car parking tickets can be bought at the same time and are priced at £10 per vehicle, and campervan tickets are priced at £65 per van. Car parking and campervan tickets can only be bought when paying the balance of your tickets, or buying a ticket outright.
