The Mirror newspaper, (here), has suggested that Madonna might be playing this year's Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm, Somerset in June.

The newspaper reported that the singer is said to be concerned about her profile in the UK after her split from British husband Guy Ritchie, and her latest single 'Miles Away' failed to make an impact in the charts.

According to the tabloid, Madonna is now lining up some UK dates to get the public back on her side, and this could possibly include an appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival which runs for five days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2009.

The article suggests that she is lining up some 'selected' dates here to woo fans, and adds that "whether one of these gigs will be Glastonbury is still being finalised".

The newspaper reveals that a source told them,
"It's a strange decision. Madonna's only just finished her deal with Warners and hasn't been in the studio yet so there is no new material to promote.

After such a gruelling year, surely it would be better if she relaxed with her family and laid low for a while? Then she could come back next year with new material and everyone gagging for a tour.

The thing with Madonna is she can't bear to be lazing about
."
