This year Oxfam is asking Glasto-goers to make the I Count climate change pledge between them, Water Aid and Greenpeace, they want 100,000 people to sign up over the weekend.
The I Count pledge encourages people to take 16 simple steps in their lives to help reduce their environmental impact and to urge world leaders to take climate change seriously. Everybody arriving at the festival will be given a special wristband with the message: We can stop climate chaos.
As well as Oxfams climate change campaigners, keep an eye out for the carbon gym in the Oxfam tent next to the Pyramid Stage. You can knacker yourself out on the special bikes and carbon weights, and demonstrate how climate change is hitting the poorest people around the world hardest.
And, if you want to go shopping, there are loads of Oxfam stalls selling vintage clothes, hats, wellies, blankets and saris. Look out for the Oxfam shop in The Park, too.
And Glastonbury really wouldnt be Glastonbury without Oxfams friendly stewards. This year, theyve got over 1,500 of them working their socks, wellies and day-glow tabards off to ensure the whole event runs smoothly. In 2005 Oxfams stewards earned £200,000 for Oxfams work around the world...Awesome stuff.
