Glastonbury gets its licence

135,000 weekend tickets go on sale on Sunday

By Neil Greenway | Published:

Glastonbury Festival has been granted a licence for this year. Mendip District Council heard the application yesterday, and made their decision last night, but have only made the announcement now.

The licence that the Festival has been granted is for 177,500 (135,000 weekend tickets, plus 5,000 Sunday-only tickets that will only be available to those living in the local area - the rest of those numbers are for staff and performers). The licence has been granted for four years (but can be reviewed by the council if need be).

The weekend tickets will go on sale at 9am on Sunday, and will only be available to those who registered to be able to buy a ticket.

Glastonbury Festival will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June (with the gates opening on the Wednesday).
