Evolution announces shows for 'the best of unsigned North-east talent'

you can't go wrong for just a quid!

Evolution 07, which takes place in NewcastleGateshead from Sunday 20th to Monday 28th May have announced two shows that will feature "the best of unsigned North-east talent" as part of the festival.

The first show will take place at The Cluny, Byker from 8pm-11pm on Sunday 20th May, and will feature The People of Santiago, The Wooden Spoons, and The Chapman Family.

The second show takes place at Carling Academy 2 from 7pm-10pm on Saturday 26th May and will feature Sefelt, Nachmi, and Moira Stewart (we presume this isn't the newsreader getting hip with the kids ).

Both shows are 'free', but with a £1 charitable donation for WaterAid.

The new artists take to the stage thanks to regional music support organisation Generator, which run the ‘Spearhead’ programme as a platform for emerging artists to showcase their musical talent.

Spearhead has played a major role in the success of a number of noteworthy bands including Evolution 07’s headline act Maximo Park. Other artists that have participated in the programme and have since received record deals include Kubichek!, Sound Explosion, Indigo Colony and Seven Seals.
