Evolution is the biggest FREE music festival in the North East of England, with a crowd of 50,000 expected for the free events on NewcastleGateshead quaysides on Monday 28th May.

There's also a dance music event - Shindig - in Baltic Square on 27th May, as well as a number of paid-for indoor gigs taking place over the festival period.

Maximo Park are confirmed as the headliner for free outdoor event Freevolution, on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May.
