The B52's are quite possibly to play at Glastonbury – they have shows booked in Manchester and London the week before, and someone tells us he's had confirmation from someone close to the band.

Queens of the Stone Age will not be playing. They are booked to play 3 festivals in Europe over the Glastonbury 3 days (St. Gallen, Werchter, Roskilde). Another festival website still has them as likely in a news piece published since these Euro dates were announced, so it shows how little they know and how badly researched their information is!

The Libertines have exclusively told us that despite asking their management to get them booked at Glastonbury, they won't be playing. So that's another "likely" that other websites are wrong about.

It's been claimed on various websites that Suede and Super Furry Animals are confirmed for this summer's Glastonbury Festival. Yet the festival has NOT confirmed them, so they are NOT confirmed ... but it is extremely likely that both bands will play.

The only band that could possibly be said to be confirmed are R.E.M. – who Michael Eavis said were booked last year, long before the Festival had a licence. But no bands are yet officially confirmed, and won't be until the Festival announces the bands.

Suede played at the Pilton Party in September, and since that point this website has had them as a strong rumour (first of course!) – bands who play the Party are almost certain to play the Festival. Other bands that played the Pilton Party are Lamb and Idlewild – expect these as almost certain too (although there is a message on the Idlewild website saying "Contrary to news stories, Idlewild at this present time are not confirmed for this year's Glastonbury Festival").

Super Furry Animals were booked to appear last year, but had to pull out (see news item here) – so it's very likely that they have been invited back this year to make up for it.

For the most comprehensive and accurate list of rumours click here. Bands marked "to be confirmed" are where we have had information (of which we are certain) that these bands will play.

Keep it here – the most accurate, the most read, the most visited, the best - other websites claiming otherwise are, put simply, full of shit (but you know that anyway – you keep telling me! ;-).
