No, I don't know, maybe @siblin can enlighten us whether they already had the url saved or whether it opened somewhere else?

Tipis were sold on a seperate link to the sticklinch/wv accomodation, and never showed up on the main glastonbury.seetickets.com landing page.
I wasnt monitoring the Tipi page directly.  My tracker was monitoring the alternative "Tour" page, which often gives insights over the normal see tickets landing page:

    Glastonbury 2022 Tickets and Dates 2022 (seetickets.com)

And it picked up on and pinged the addition of a link:

    Glastonbury 2022 - Tipi Village (seetickets.com)

This link has since been removed and is no longer valid.

I think they have 5 or 6 temporary mast onsite plus on permanent one.

I think they also have microwave links between the towers and then the the fibre backhaul.

I believe you're broadly right.  It might not be as many as 5 or 6, but they have a few.  You sometimes see them up on cherry-pickers.

Fun-fact, the glastonbury site has been used for some EE 5G trials a few years ago.  My company were involved but sadly I wasn't able to ingratiate myself into the project.

Gong AND System 7, wow Hillage is busy!

That's 90s acid jazz band Incognito playing with Cox, they've done it before.

I thought the problem was that there are now trees in the middle of where the dancefloor was? Can it really stay there?

Apparently Hillage isnt part of the permanent lineup these days, but it seems likely he'll take part.

  4. Sneaky stage time leak from the Lead musician in Gong and member of The Utopia Strong, with information for those desperate to see Steve Davis.

I'm so thrilled to be able to announce that I'll be performing three times at Glastonbury Festival this year.
    On Friday the 24th June-
THE UTOPIA STRONG will play the Glade Stage at 2pm
    then later that night
GONG will play the Glade stage at 11.15pm
The following night I will be DJ-ing with Steve Davis  in the Glade Dome at 1.15am (which is, I suppose, Sunday morning)

Looks like Gong are essentially the Friday night headline/after headline slot.

  5. Gotta say the Glade Dome has some good, fun alternative acts on.  Will be there for Mik Artistic and The Egg i reckon (always enjoyed the Egg at glastonbury).

Also will have to see Gong at the glade stage as I have loose familial ties.  Won't be the same without Daevid Allen and Gilli Smith though 😞

Spike is listed at the bottom along with the Glade Lounge and Glade Cafe, but does look like Spaceport has gone

yeah just noticed on twitter GF refer to a "rebuilt spike venue" too.

  7. Hmm so it looks like theres a Glade stage, and a Glade Dome.

No mention on the lineup so far about the lounge, spike or spaceport.  I suspect most of these are gone but it would surprise me if Spike didnt at least have something there.

Our team do thursday and saturday 6pm to 6am or friday and sunday 6am to 6pm! But with all the changes this year who knows!!!
the new campsites will add an interesting take on things!!!
im wondering if Acadia may be a bigger space which is why have put moved extra public camping in the stewards camping in diary!

Looking at the map, it is slightly, but also capacity is going up an extra 7000 supposedly.

The most bonkers decision ever made was to put Arcadia between the Glade and Other stage that year, what on earth were they thinking!

Lack of imagination, and licensing considerations i think.
Prior to that the southeast corner was getting silly.  They moved Arcadia and introduced the one-way system to try to alleviate that (which only slightly worked).  At that time it was perceived they couldn’t have anything pumping out sound north and west of the naughty corner so they “inched” Arcadia up a bit, but not too close to pilton etc.

I guess after that they decided that sacrificing some camping space was okay, and that it wouldn’t be too hard to get an amplified music license (though it did appear to be dialled down a bit)

Is there a pub/bar crawl map anywhere?

The mate i’m with this year likes a drink so I figure a pubcrawl on the Wednesday night might be fun

Im not sure the concept of a rigid pub crawl makes sense given the number of available bars and how big the festival is (and thus the walking).  Also if you were to restrict yourself to the bars marked on the map you'd mainly be limiting yourself to the official festival drinks, where there are smaller bars selling a range of different drinks and give yo more choice.

That said, if there were there would be the following I'd recommend as essential.  Not necessarily because they are the best bars but because they are iconic (though most of them are pretty good).  Could do it as a bingo card for the weekend, rather than a pub crawl which would be exhausting.

    - Cider Bus (East of Pyramid)

    - Brothers Bar (west holts)

    - Stonebridge Bar (Park)

    - Rabbit hole (Park)

    - Beat hotel, now San Remo (West of pyramid). (Might be a personal choice but one of my favourite bars in the past)

Then as some optionals, simply because they are always there.  Mostly sell the festival official drinks.

    - Arcadia Bar (Arcadia field, Park)

    - Bread and Roses (i think i got that right, main markets area south east of pyramid)

    - Mandela bar (pyramid)

    - Solstice bar (other stage)

    - Ridge and furrow.

You could probably also do a bar crawl solely in the south-east corner, and Rumshack and Rocket Lounge would have to be on that list.

  11. Our wedding was festival vibed if not themed.  We found a venue which would allow camping and campervans on site, which not everyone took advantage of but we had about half a dozen campers and half a dozen tents.  There were also glamping pods and cottages on site, and hotels close by, so the guests could choose what suited them best.

it had a small stone circle for an outdoor ceremony (humanist).  We had it for the whole weekend (recommended if you want that festival vibe else it just flies by) so had the registrar ceremony the following day.

we had wristbands made up for the guests.    Some arrived on the Friday night and we had a pub quiz.  The Saturday we had our ceremony at the stone circle (surrounded by straw bales) followed, and were lucky enough to get New York Brass Band to play the reception drinks and just after lunch.  Lunch was a hog roast.

In the afternoon we did our own little DJ set, with garden games (which is a good shout).  Really though the children were more interested in building a fort with the hay bales and making a mess.  luckily the venue were very easy going about that!

Then we had a great band from the north east (Last Anthem) do our evening entertainment and had a buffet. Topped off with a firework display.

the Sunday the registrar came into the living room of the cottage we were staying in to finalise everything to a much smaller crowd (humanist ceremonies are still not legally recognised in England, but are in Scotland and I think NI).  People left in a trickle from the Saturday night through to Sunday lunch time, much like a festival!

I can honestly say it was the best day/weekend of my life, and I hope the same can be said for my wife 🙂

    I guess some tips:

    - we had glorious weather but have a backup plan and try not to be disappointed if things don’t go perfectly.

    - give yourself time to take it in.

    - wind can make outdoor speeches/vows difficult to hear.  We were mic’d up with wireless levallier mics.

-spend money on what is really important to you - we had relatively cheap food so we could have NYBB.  On a similar note try not to worry if your guests will/are enjoying it, it’s your day!

    - source cheap blankets if you’re expecting people to be outside a lot or if you’re using straw bales to protect their bums.  We got a bunch from ikea at about 75p a pop then donated them to various places.

It’s called the thin end of the wedge.

I wouldn't confuse a brief balancing year with systematic salami slicing.  GFL isn't run as a cash cow like other festivals, so whilst the temptation to increase margin at the expense of client experience is there for commercial festivals its not as strong for glastonbury.

You don't need to worry about long term decline of the festival whilst its structured the way it is.

I reckon most years they've used the last years map and just edited it.

This year, it looks like they started completely afresh, from a blank slate.

The graphics looks crisp and clear, hats off to Glasto Cartographer, who ever they may be 👏

There was a big shift in design between 2014 and 2015.  This one is more subtle and looks like its based off the same "lines", but definitely a visual improvement.

  14. Ok they've fixed it now. they've replaced the -1 with a .1

No changes other than a new medical tent in silver hayes.  Cut through at glastolatino is still blocked.image.thumb.gif.9aba80af8299155f5f3e4424c87cfd72.gif
Outsiders must think we are mental, getting exited about the slightest footpath change and addition of a medical tent.
