I have a couple of tickets for this year's Weyfest (5th-6th September) with Jethro Tull but unfortunately it's come too late in the day for me to get enough time off work so I can't make it... I have them on ebay for £80 (face value £150) if anyone is interested in saving a bit, give me a shout by message...

They must have a deal with security somewhere along the line to get themselves in and deal without too much hassle.

Know what you mean mate. I'd give it a shot, one thing I've learned as I've got older is that there's no point waiting for stuff to happen to you. You've got to give it a shot and just shrug and move on if it doesn't work out. Go for it dude, send a nice civil, polite message seeing if she's interested in catching up for a beer or two

Don't be mental. This is what is commonly known as the Bjork Complex. 'Oh let's go see Bjork because we'll be seeing Arctic Monkeys next month and we'll never see her again'. There was a reason we'd never see her again which I believe is commonly referred to as shitness. Go and see the band you like best. They'll be great at Leeds/ Reading and if they close the show next year they will be unmissable.

Wasn't checked either time I went through gate C.

The ticketing system I wrote about in 2004 would have solved this:
http://www.hartnup.net/wordpress/a-means-o...-event-tickets/
-
Ticket losses WILL happen. Some through negligence, some through bad luck, some through crime, some through completely unforseen circumstances.
People that lose their tickets are not necessarily 'morons' or 'twerps'.
Of course there should be a system that can deal with missing tickets.

I don't know about anybody else, but i'm about to write a strongly worded letter to Odeon...
-
There is no requirement to provide for imbeciles who lose their ticket.
-
Doesn't have to be the end. There's the likes of Thimbleberry and Alchemy in September.
-
I'd happily have a number branded on to my arse if it solved all this

Cheers... don't think I've been to that one before but it looks quite nice, I'll add it to the list. Just got to convince people to get tickets first!

There were bands at Glastonbury...?

Sounds good, thanks for the info I'm working on a few people and hope to get a crew together... Suggested it to my cousin who has a 5 month old kid and so missed out on Beat-Herder this year, but this one sounds ideal what with being able to have all the stuff in the car at hand.
Anyone know any decent campsites in the area? Thinking of coming up on the Tuesday/Wednesday for a break. I think I've stayed at one near Allonby before but the name eludes me...

Really intrigued by this one to round off the camping/music season for me... I get the impression it's not 100% dance orientated? As in there'll be a bit of a mixed crowd rather than just ravers? I've just been to a really dancey one and it got a bit too much after a while.
I'm surprised you can park next to your tent, normally they rule that out on safety grounds.

Had a good weekend but really noticed a load more bagheads and dealers round the place this year... I mean, I know they don't exactly go amiss at a dance festival like this but round the campsites there was a pretty rough feel to it, some really shady characters hanging round in big groups. You couldn't turn round without seeing someone totally off their head. I saw a few people being carted off early in the morning, people dancing with puke on them, dealers offering 15 year old kids pills, etc.
All in all it's still a good little festival if you turn a blind eye to that sort of thing but I get the feeling word of mouth has gone round and a load of scruffs have cottoned on that they can take/deal whatever they want. Hope it doesn't end up with a few hardcore lunatics spoiling it for the mellow majority.

The sound outside the Queen's Head screens when Maximo Park opened was rubbish too, and there were thousands down there at that point. Poor do.

That's well tight. We could have squeezed someone in the back I'm sure. Reminds me of on the road leading up to the entrance, I jumped out for a wee and the queue moved behind my back... next thing I know the car's a mile down the road, I had to leg it full speed for a mile to catch up and everyone just laughed... gits.

Wowzers!
Sounds like the drivers was shoving that money straight in his pocket...

Setting off now

I reckon there were only about 24 cans on site, and scavengers just nicked them off each other! -

as its an "arena" guessing at Kendal you can't take alcohol in when watching the bands?

Beat-Herder is on this weekend - sorry, know that doesn't help Never been before but my mates all say it's a cracking little festival with great people and atmosphere. I'm setting off tomorrow! Keep it in mind for another year!
Early camping balls-up

From what I'm hearing there's been a balls-up with the camping for people arriving on Wednesday. My mum and sister got there on the Green Bus along with about a thousand other people and were told the white field was closed and they weren't allowed in anywhere else even though the fields were empty. The stewards didn't have any idea what was happening. It took them six hours in the rain for them to finally let these people in before it went dark. It's not funny when you know your mum and sister are stuck in the middle of nowhere with a ton of festival gear!
I'm not sure of all the details yet as they obviously have limited phone access right now but I was wondering if anyone else has heard about this.
