is this worth going to ?

never been ...bit close to latitude in timing tho

It used to be,    The fact its the last year could go either way regarding  how much fun it will be in 2017.   All things must pass and SGP was sadly already passed its sell by date.

  2. Remember this is the same festival who last year Didn't replace main headliners  "Primal Scream" after the band had to pull out due to Gillespie's Accident, but who didn't inform punters or change their billing online until the last minute despite other festivals where the band were due to play bringing in a replacement headline act. The organisers had more than enough time to find another headline act.  Many people were unaware until their arrival that the band weren't appearing   (the spot was taken by a band further down the bill). The attendance for 2016 was way down and was estimated at 17000 people, Almost half capacity.

  3. 1st timers in 2012 after 20+ years of Glasto and despite conditions we completely fell in love with SGP. Was waiting for ticket page to open today! Our Glastonbury visits are now more or less over (im not gonna say never, because you never say never to glasto) The site is just to vast for me to negotiate nowadays and if its a wet year its impossible for me to get beyond the disabled area to even the pyramid stage and the frustration of it all going on around us drives me nuts!...SGP is compact, friendly (very) and best of all completely nuts! Roll on 2013!!

  4. Glasto is way to large an area for me to cover now. Im Impaired in my mobility and when it gets muddy the options to get around are severely limited. I know this is the same at every other festival but the sheer scale of glasto means an epic journey just to get from A to B with overcrowding meaning i sometimes have to just turn around and head somewhere else. The frustration really boiled over for me this year because for the first time the massive distances beat me and so 2012 is the perfect opportunity to try out smaller festivals. Im not overly concerned with big name bands because to be honest ive seen just about anyone ive really wanted to see ( im no youngster!! :) ).

Secret garden party tickets have been paid for and im really looking forward to that as a first timer but if anyone could suggest another festival Id be very grateful :)

  5. JUST SAY "NO" KIDS!

She was an out and out druggie and got what she deserved. Harsh but true.

Fantastic talent, but feel sorry for her family who are left to pick up the pieces and deal with the media frenzy.

    Selfish fool.

  6. God forbid you have money but still have a social conscience.. Best to sit in silence and keep your head down like the w*nkers in the city who are still sitting laughing all the way to the bank. Bonos tax avoidance isnt the reason for Irelands problems. Performers and the uber rich have done exactly the same for decades and its barely raised an eyebrow. The loopholes and laws are made by the tossers we vote into power so at the end of the day we are responsible for allowing it to happen.

Give me a man like Bono anyday over the likes of Cameron and Hague or Blair.

  7. 1998 and getting way to out of it for my own good and not sleeping at all over the weekend in the hope of overcoming the Somme like conditions. I finally passed out in the tent through sheer exhaustion on sunday night/monday morning but woke up in the early hours to find the tent completely flooded and me lying face down with oozing stinking muddy water not only all over me but in my mouth!.

I immediately threw up but that was only the beginning, within a few hours the crap (literally) and bacteria i had swallowed began their awful attack and i was so ill on my return home i was off work for 2 weeks. It was truly horrendous and painful..and dangerous!

Having a few hours sleep every night is now the norm for me when at Glasto regardless of conditions and getting so completely trashed never happened again either....lesson well and truly learned.

  8. Friday is the worst day for clashes of headliners ive ever had at Glasto.

Im going to have to go with U2 though because Primal Scream and Cee Lo Green will almost certainly return at some point and play Glasto again, Plus i have already seen Primal Scream perform Screamadelica this year at Glasgow, It was brilliant!.

U2 im sure will be a one off.

  9. The festival will change, to survive it has to . As we all grow older and then die off alongside the musicians of our day a whole new set of amazing artists and party people are yet to arrive who will do it their way, and in the grand tradition of the young i hope they look back with affection while at the same time telling us to go f**k ourselves as its now their turn. ;)

  10. Living in lies

    by the railway line

Pushing the hair from my eyes

Elvis is English and climbs the hills

Can't tell the bullshit from the lies

    Screaming along in South London

    Vicious but ready to learn

    Sometimes I fear

that the whole world is queer

    Sometimes but always in vain

    David Bowie. Buddha of Suburbia

  11. No trouble for us . The atmosphere was electric but the crowds were at times Scary and it seemed bottlenecks were constantly forming that year with so many folks on the move. I loved every minute of 2000 even though i felt in the minority having bought my tickets as always, but was happy the super

fence went up for the next-un.

  12. U2 v Primal scream playing Sreamadelica wouldve been a nightmare clash for me but we have tickets for Glasgow to see the Sreamadelica gig so im happy to go along see U2.

Im sure it will be a great performance by the band and even though im not a big U2 fan im really looking forward to seeing them play.

  13. going to bournemouth next week also

whats their set up like, is it just the decks and some vocalists or live drummers etc?

and what was the support like, i've got to get their early to collect tickets and all that malarky?

  14. Went to see Leftfield last night at the Barrowlands over in Glasgow.

They were absolutely incredible!, I thought the roof was gonna lift off the venue.

Their return to Glasto is well overdue. I live in hope! :)
