Incredible isn’t it. There was a big hit trying to shut down touting secondary markets.

What do they do once they’ve nearly succeeded?

…create their own touting secondary market with a different name.

    Disgusting.

It should be illegal and banned outright. Absolutely scummy behaviour from ticketmaster and Arcade Fire tbh.

  2. The commentary on inter generational trauma on Mother I Sober is so carefully thought through and crafted. Very powerful.

Seems to be a bit of a theme of his recent releases with the Heart Pt 5 also touching on it too.

  3. Novelty is a huge factor in deciding who I see now. I've been going to gigs since I was 15, and over the course of 10+ years I've pretty much exhausted all of my "must sees" who are still about. Now for me it's largely about seeing things which are new and fresh.

    The Glastonbury formula is:

Quality of Music + Novelty + Chance of catching them again / Ticket price + Level/Type of intoxication

  4. Sounds fairly decent on a first listen. Age of anxiety pt 1 and 2, and unconditional 2 are the highlights for me. Hoping it will grow over time, and I think keeping it to a tight 40 minutes helps it as a whole.

Some of the lyrical issues remain however. It’s all too direct and on the nose and has a bit of an old man yelling about screen time vibe to it. The “Unsubscribe” bit in end of an empire particularly stinks.

I'm predicting a secret JP set up against Diana Ross and headlining next year 🤞

If that comes to fruition it will be one of the worst clashes of all time.

Hey Jude and Let It Be are the biggest sing alongs in the set. Get Back will get people riled up. I mean his show structure has been like this for a long while. He gives the crowd some Beatles nuggets early on and takes care of his Wings/solo material, then pivots to all Beatles. Its just changed a bit over the years, but the meat of the set will please whoever is watching. I wouldnt worry too much about the talking. If anyone watching isnt willing to wait through that first hour of his set then they shouldnt be watching him at all.

This has got me thinking that I might skip him tbh. Not sure it’s for me, though the end of the set is admittedly full of tunes.

Jon Hopkins now does not say DJ after his name, what does he do differently on DJ vs not DJ Sets?

    Edit: Same with Four Tet

That’s interesting as they’ve specified elsewhere on the poster with other acts that they’re DJ sets…

Live sets for Jon Hopkins and Four Tet a possibility then?

Oh really? Tbh feel like them rallying around and trying to get them taken down gives it a certain level of validity...

    Wonder which bit is 'incorrect'

Probably Calvin harris is meant to be labelled as his “love regenerator” monkier. Which sounds like a late night film in the 80s on channel 4.

It stems from her beef with Nastia but there are also accusations of being a Putin sympathiser and not using her platform to condemn her countries actions. It's complex. Obviously she's not obliged to say anything but social media scrutiny these days demands that artists take a stand. It's not as easy as that, I guess. Some would say keep politics off the dancefloor but that's also very difficult, isn't it?

Surprised to see Nina Kraviz on the bill. Some controversy surrounding her at the moment

Is there? Other than the obvious that she’s Russian.
