Last year the covers arrived a day later than this year but still didn't go up until 11th May.

See this is quality information That I have regaled to my family. But at least we all go to G, so wasn’t met with eye rolls but more excitement

Got confirmation email yesterday, quite excited about this as not worked Glastonbury for nearly 20 years.

I think once you have done volunteering at festivals and then go to a paid role, you appreciate what other people are experiencing and I would never expect anyone to do anything I wasn't prepared to do myself.

Apparently there are 30+ gates that get covered, won't find out where I am located till nearer the time, but hopefully one of the busier public gates as it would be more interesting.

9 shifts, fed 3 meals a day and we get staff camping near the farm I believe, not sure what field but there are bunkabins and we will have our caravan with us (my OH and myself).

Will definitely try to get to the Monday night meet up 😁

Oh and I never Gossip 🤔😉

I don't know if you can count this as a self confirm yet, but I certainly take it as one.

Just watched a Q&A that Frank Turner did on Instagram live yesterday, and he was asked about Glastonbury. Big grin and a wink, and he said "Who knows?!"

sure does sound like it - Headline Avalon again? or maybe acoustic

Apart from a couple of years entering through Gate D I dont think Ive ever been over that side of the site. Nothing there but campsites right?

Im arriving and leaving at PGA Wednesday afternoon anyway so Hitchin Hill/Lime Kiln again.

if your in Hitchin, we'll keep an eye out for you - our staff camping is in the lower section of Hitchin - across the Pilton Bypass - well it was last year

maybe just coz im trying on Chrome on computer, but still not working for me, but yeah Faithless with their big announcement got them the bump up

  6. I think we need to put more stock into the webcam being off (not changed)

doing something they dont want us to see

my guess - the line up poster - where they had the "there is no pattern" poster

How much more popular was Billie Eilish when she played in 2022, versus SZA these days? Eilish obviously had that James Bond song that the casuals could have known her from, but she didn't even play that during the show.

purely based off of my now 10 year old daughter - 8 then - Eillish is/was way more popular than SZA - but htat is a very small frame of refrence

  8. they say that, but can folk honestly not say that they dont do one of these things - from the licensing website

No TV? Not watching TV live on any channel or service, or BBC iPlayer*? Empty property? You can let us know here by completing a No Licence Needed declaration.

The law says you need to be covered by a TV Licence to:

    • watch or record TV on any channel - via any TV service (e.g. Sky, Virgin, BT, Freeview, Freesat)
    • watch TV live on any streaming service (e.g. ITVX, Channel 4, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Now TV, Sky Go)
    • watch BBC iPlayer*.

    On any device.

In the context of what I think Emily was talking about (which I think was the headliner).  I took it as an indication that it was someone who wasn't on anyone's radar that that point...Which made sense when the Stevie Wonder information came out because he hadn't played live for several years due to his health issue and surgery.

    stop being sensible 😄 😄

I think it's for Dua. She's somewhere in the top 20 most streamed artists, doesn't sound as impressive as top 3 but considering just how many people are putting out music, still pretty good.

I think the late availability thing is for Stevie Wonder, I don't recall that comment being specifically about a female act.

    yeah thats fair,

the "she" was proably just in my head, i thought it was as thats why back then everyone assumed it meant Madge, as it more alluded to female, but again, im most probably wrong on that memory

The quote was "...is a stadium level artist..." so from that is sounded more of a solo act that a band.

thats how i read it aswell, looking at spotify charts from over the years back to 2015 ish there is only 2/3 really that is female - in the top 3 over the years - RiRI / Swizzle / Grande

it could also be a Glasto Hyperbole for Dua Lipa - as in she is away to go super stardom - they do sometimes go down that route with their descriptions

this is based with using the Emily statements of couldnt believe someone (she) would be available

although im sure im getting 2 + 2 = potato

Her set itself was fantastic. All energy, getting the crowd onside from the start and keeping them there, superb set list. But the way she finished, coming off stage and into the heart of the crowd, emerging minutes later with mud all over her face, and that final impassioned monologue to camera before disappearing into the night... everyone knew they'd just experienced something special. Not a festival version of a touring set, but a unique performance that will never be repeated. It was truly exceptional.

absolutely this, we were very much in the this will do leading into it, but by the end (and from the very start of set) were in Awe, this is still one of my fave festival sets of all festivals I've been too
