"Meet you between the two bushes" has been our meet point for 20+ years. Great to get stood just on the right bit before the dip behind. Bit of an increase in gradient meaning a good view.

We always called the bigger one the tree:

Meet you by the tree and the bush, since 2009......😢

Agree with less inspiring or diverse food choices than I remember in years past - couldn't find a sushi role place that had good veggie/vegan options previously. Only thing I had yesterday was a vegan hogless roast burger with hash browns, but that was really good and would recommend to anyone going over this weekend

    Was it pulled jackfruit?

London park venues have quite strict restrictions in general right? I don't particularly like Finsbury Park or Hyde Park as I feel their sound is never quite as full-on as other venues. Maybe my earplugs exacerbate that though.

Always regret going to any Hyde Park thing tbh, as the sound is always terrible - I get why.  Always thought sound at APE/Field Day was better than that, but it might be my proximity bias as I just walk along the canal to get to Vicky Park

  4. Was front central for Strokes, I thought they were great. I had had a few Dark and Stormies though. I don't really see how you can fault the setlist, that's a very odd criticism.

Also saw The Walkmen - good, Warmduscher - ace, Girl in Red - good but so many pissed up lads talking/shouting through it.

Tried for Yeah Yeah Yeahs but was difficult to get anywhere near and then get out for a decent position for the Strokes, I don't know anything about sound stage positioning but they seem to just render half the area irrelevant.

Queued for cocktails but not too bad. Annoying queue for dumplings because card machine went kaput. Food options were generally disappointing, I swear there was some more exciting vegan stands before, but perhaps I thinking of Field Day of old.

Can you only pay with Amex on the Axs resale? Keep getting pushed back.

    Looking for one Strokes ticket!

Had loads of trouble yesterday, kept telling me I was a bot etc and then payment failed, ended up using revolut

  6. I went to the launch gig for the Magic Whip and it was fab. This is insanely cheap and you get to see Blur in a smallish venue, what's not to like? People are weird.

  7. Got them too, what were all the options when you got in? Was hyper focussed so just saw 'stalls standing' and bought there seemed to be multiple options though, more than just stalls or circle but was quite literally a blur!😀

  8. I went to both sets, hated having to leave early from Woodsies as it was running over but needed to get my friend a spot for Lizzo. He was awesome and as others have said, really seems to have got it and had the best time. He seems such a lovely guy.

As someone who can usually only attend from the Thursday, it could be a good idea to reserve a field for Thursday arrivals, which only opens at, say, 6am on the Thursday.

This would cause less stress to us late arrivals but also encourage some people to come a day later. I am sure there are a few that rush down late on the Wednesday just because of the stress of finding a spot on the Thursday.

Backhouse used to be an overspill field that opened later, not sure if it was open this year

I mean, journalism used to be about leaving your bias at the door and reporting as accurately as possible. But like others have said, the Independent just seemed to want to give a bad review no matter what. With this one sentence, it proves they cared more about the identity of GnR than the actual performance or the music.

Heck, there's plenty of rappers with sexist, misogynistic language in their songs who have performed at Glasto, but somehow it's GnR who are the macho dinosaurs playing actual instruments as opposed to just singing to a backing track, blah blah. I don't know if they're actually trying to spark a debate with their review, rather just label them as troublesome to society or some nonsense.

I mean seriously, Glasto is a festival of indulgence. From the brioche dough wraps, to the amount of coke-heads, to the day drinkers. Rockists at Glasto - also quite a few including a number on here. Dated? Elton pre-dates GnR.

Nah, the Independent aren't trying to spark a debate, they're just being massive snobs.

Axl is quite a woke lefty these days too (this is a good thing).

  11.

No toilet queues except in the campsite and not one single sh*t seen on a toilet seat!

Didn't really feel too crowded at any point, only exception to this was when they closed shangri la from west due to Mike Skinner crowd and I wanted to get to Panic Shack on the Truth stage and simply could not get through from the east side. Had a word with security and one of the stewards in charge let me in from the west side, so made most of the set!

Saw no aggro at all. People were friendly, I took a heavy fall walking back on the railway on Thursday night, actually really quite hurt myself, so many people asked me if I was OK and tried to help. Obviously I was mega embarrassed and wanted them all to go away, but it was nice that people were concerned.

No real queuing at bars at all. Even at the Mandela for headliners got served pretty quick.

Lovely man at the front of the Hives with his spray bottle cooling us all down, what a fab idea!

No real bad food experiences and some fab ones.

Lebara sim worked perfectly and had full coverage all festival. (let's not talk about O2).

Frozen daiquiris at the Rocket Lounge, they are so f**king good, a festival tradition for me.....might have contributed to that fall though.....

Don't have to try hard to find a bigger crowd, the crowd was bigger at the foo's yesterday.

I don't think the performance was bad, I just think GnR are sh*t, outside the three big hits their songs are awful. Wtf even was that one about being tied up, terrible stuff and happy for that kind of music to be resigned to the bin

i mean you can think they were sh*t at Glastonbury but in 1987 they redefined rock music, they were nothing you had ever seen. Vital rock n roll, sleazy absolute cool. Appetite is a defining album. It's/their impact was insane. They are one of the most vital bands of rock history.

They are not the band they were, obviously, I saw them on the use your illusion tour at old Wembley, but they did a good job and anyone who thinks Nighttrain is irrelevant can get to f**k.

But she started pretty much on time, finished on time and delivered a great show. It can be done…..

We watched 30+ sets/shows this year and nothing was less than +/- 10 mins off schedule. We had toyed with leaving GnR for LDR as friends were heading over there and some of our kids were there. So glad we didn’t. They were very disappointed. She/her machine let down a lot of people on Saturday and they should reflect on that.

sorry, should have stated 'sarcasm font' she was amazing
