There's no one left here now! They've (almost) all gone!
They'll all be pushing and shoving in the rain to get in now. I'm taking a more leisurely afternoon / evening arrival.

Just test mi stash, looking and feeling good
-
Leaving today at 2.00pm for a 6.00pm arrival (with no queues or rain!)

That clinched it, I'm deffo not going to see her now.

I saw the glastonbury film the other night, seeing all the different characters on there, listening to people viewpoints etc. It was like a different worlk. The current festival is an obsenity compared to how it used to be.
I'd genuinely like to see it renamed. The Pilton Pop festival or something. It was steadily changing, but in the last couple of years I'd say the "old" glastonbury is pretty much completely gone.
The blame lies with the fence and the super high entrance fee. The demographic is utterly changed. It is the domain of the spoilt middle class rich kid nowadays.
Will I go in 2013? Probably not.

And it will be, waiting for tomorrow to come.
For me, today will seem like Christmas Eve did when I was a child.

Good luck everyone!

For people having TV hogging problems, you can watch it online!

TV licence permitting, of course!

will the weather forecast part be available to view on line soon after? My sky+ is already recording 2 programmes at that time so i can't watch my telly.

this needs re-bumping to the top for all that haven't seen it

I dunno if this has been mentioned - I'm still dozzy eyed after reading the weather thread - and can't be arsed to trawl through a back log, but I've been told that the Arctics are the surprise band playing the Park on the Friday. If this is common knowledge, then soz!
-
Would you have any concerns about U2 playing the Park field?
"Nah Dave - no crowd control risks there at all! We're booking the Stones next year!"
I think its a lose/lose situation. Pulp play, it is ram packed and they have to close down the field. Pulp don't play, The Feeling walk out, the buzz is ruined and the crowd & band feel cheated.
That just ain't Glasto I'm afraid. Soz.

How is that 'official approval'?

I thought these were considered anti-social amongst the glasto public.
Look who's selling them

It's getting better. Here's the latest from the Met Office...
UK Outlook for Tuesday 21 Jun 2011 to Thursday 30 Jun 2011:
The generally unsettled conditions look to continue as June comes to a close, with further showers or rain likely to affect many parts of the country, but especially Scotland and Northern Ireland. However, there should also be some drier, brighter and slightly warmer periods, these most likely in the south of the UK, but particularly across southeastern parts of England. Temperatures will be generally close to average, but will be slightly below in any persistent rain. However, there is a chance of temperatures creeping above average in any extended sunny spells, particularly across the southeast. It will also be windy at times, with a risk of gales, particularly across the north and west at first.

I've dusted down and played my old Pulp CD's in preparation for seeing them at Glasto. I'd forgot how good they are.
Although I've heard Common People far too many times now, there are plenty of other gems on His n Hers and Different Class.
The track Monday Morning is great. I can still remember them playing that at the very first V Fest in 96. The bit where Jarvis pauses seemed to go on forever, building the excitement. Oh, happy days.
Hope they do show up (on the Friday slot though please!)

It's looking very likely now to be Saturday

http://thatgrapejuice.net/2011/06/beyonce-perform-bet-awards/
Looks like B's slot is going to be even bigger than previously thought. For those who don't know, Beyonce is pretty well known for some great performances at the BET awards which have blown everyone else out of the water on the night. Youtube some videos to see for yourself.
I'd also imagine it makes her having some big special guest/s all the more likely. Surely she'll want to create some hype for those attending the awards instead of the festival? Apparently ratings for the awards are set to sky rocket now that she's been confirmed, so I can't see her doing anything less than epic.
Anyway, should be big!! Bring on Beyonce
