  1. This will be (or maybe not) be my 5th consecutive V festival but to say I am disappointed with the line up would be an understatement. Quite pleased with the mid afternoon/early evening bands like Cast, OCS and even the Kaiser Chiefs also a few others I would like to catch for entertainment value alone like the Wombats but this year has to be the worst year EVER for headliners.

The headliners are usually the main draw at V, I would go as far as to say that if the likes of the Artics or Emenim played previous years they wouldn't even make the top 2 on either night.

Really disappointed as I look forward to V every year, seriously considering knocking it on the head this year.

  2. Personally I wouldnt risk it its hit and miss depending on what mood the security are in. I've seen people being kicked out of the campervan area for putting tents up, and then not being able to get into the main camping area as they've got campervan wristbands (which really doesnt make sense as you pay for a full weekend camping anyway!!) and then ive also seen the security taking tents down while people are in the arena.
  3. Altough this years line up doesnt exactly have the wow factor given the majority of acts have done V over the past few years just wondered who everyone was looking forward to seeing the most.

For me its got to be Madness, I can see them stealing the show and being great fun to watch.

Looking forward to the Phonics, Kasabian and KOL but for me its just a repeat of previous V fests.

  4. Just got back from a superb weekend in Staffs. Sun, strongbow and plenty of great bands was truly superb.

Personal highlights OCS, Enemy, Oasis, Wombat and the best of the lot the Killers. 4th and best time I have seen them, Mr Brightside finished off a top weekend. I am still in shock that we had sun, I even have a tan lol

Looking forward to next year already

  5. And I am off home to pack my stuff to set off for Staffs tomorrow.

BBQ and a few cans of bow outside the camper on Friday.

Cooked brekkie Sat morning with the bar opening at 8am followed by a top day watching OCS, Twang, Oasis etc.

Sunday, major hangover, force down a bacon sarnie and back on the bow, followed by another top day and night.

    I cant bloody wait. :lol:;):lol::D:lol::lol::lol:

  6. It depends on who is on the gate to be honest. I have stayed in the camper van field the last 2 years and they have been very strict and its very rare they will let anyone in who doesn’t have a wrist band. You may be lucky and get away with it but they do check.

  7. I agree they aint the best band in the world but I for one am glad to see them back at V this year. They were superb in the JJB at Staffs last year, put on a great show and really got the crowd going. Would go as far as to say they were the best live act I saw last year and shall be making a point of going to see them again this year in the Union.

  8. I read on here last week that they had confirmed in the Union (which in itself is a little strange) Anyone got any idea what sort of slot they are likely to take. Was originally posted they would be quite far down the line up, but I have read another post on here claiming they will be last but one act in the Union.

  9. Watching Ocean Colour Scene rock the JJB in 2007, the atmosphere was superb. Will never forget everyone signing the chorus to day we caught the train while leaving the tent and random people outside joining in whilt walking to the main stage. Was amazing.

  10. Having been to the Oasis gig in Cardiff on Friday I am having serious 2nd thoughts about going to V this year. Some of the people or so called fans Oasis attract are nothing short of scum. There were fights breaking out every 5-10 minutes and there was just an aggressive atmosphere most of the night.

I am not saying V is all lovey dovey and you do see the odd argument or even a few fists flying but Friday was a joke, fights, arguments, purposely throwing cups of beer and piss over people from as early as 5pm really spoilt the enjoyment of what was supposed to be a great gig and this has got me considering whether V is going to be worth it this year with all these clowns.

One of the main reasons in going to V is the friendly atmosphere and the chilled out vibe you get over the 2 days. I dread to think what the camp sites will be like all weekend with that sort of scum following them.

Anyone go when they were there in the 90s what was the weekend like?
