Best band to ever grace Reading or Leeds.
Absolutely no doubt about that.
Paris in 2 weeks as well...
Leeds certainly did get the better (if shorter) set. I was at the front and the majority of my favourite songs were played. What a deeply joyous experience that was, for both me and my friends individually, and as a group. -
As long as your passport arrives before then.
-
You going to the Paris show too? Or just fancy a non festival show on CD?
-
This just cannot happen soon enough...roll on Pearl motherf**king Jam!!!
-
-
it does slightly bother me that what is likely to be one of the biggest bands i ever see is going to be at this age... and the fact that the two pearl jam fans that have kept this thread alive won't be in the same few hundred yard radius
-
ha im going to be at the front for pearl jam its going to be crazzzzzy especially with people like cultseeker and olivavu around
-
Given To Fly, Brain Of J, Comatose, Go, Animal, Even Flow, Lukin, In My Tree, Porch, Why Go, Spin The Black Circle and Daughter/It's OK medley for me please...

-
I really hope they bring 'Comatose' out to play on Sunday night, it's my favourite track off the new album and I think it f**king rocks.
They're gonna come onstage on Sunday night and make everything ok...it's ok...

I love Pearl Jam
-
I shall probably see Slayer, but I'm not all that fussed either way.
Will be nice to hear a bit of heavier music...just a shame it isn't Tool, Filter, Nine Inch Nails or Deftones...
-
Well, we made it to 100! I think everyone on this board must have put at least one post each on here. So as I leave for Dublin to watch the first show of this amazing band's Euro tour... I say, spread the jam! and hope to catch some of you at the weekend.
Farewell,
Fab

Tom Araya, Jeff Hanneman, Kerry King and Dave Lombardo are the present members of Slayer.

As if this thread is 99 pages long! I believe it would have died long ago certain people didn't keep bumping it back in to life...
-
I'm sure Paris will be a blast.

Pearl Jam mix up what they play a great deal, and it since they have such a great selection to call upon, whatever they play is going to be brilliant.
This is going to be something very, very special.
Roll on Sunday night...

Pearl Jam get ever closer...
-
If Mean Fiddler offered Pearl Jam the slot and they came back with the term that there had to be a barrier, then it was up to Mean Fiddler as to go ahead or not.
Pearl Jam were deeply upset and hurt by the events at Roskilde and understandably don't want a repeat.
If people want to hate them for this, then that's their problem.
-
Apparently six people died in Denmark when they last played a festival and because of that part of the deal to get them to play Carling weekend was to install the second barrier for safety (although all it does is mean there are two groups of people getting crushed against the barrier instead of one). It's mentioned in another thread regarding the barrier.
-
I'm feeling quite resentful towards Pearl Jam as rumor has it they requested the bloody second barrier that is going to kill the atmosphere just like it did at Ozzfest back in 2002

Yes, Iron maiden and Metallica are mainstream! You have to get over this strange concept that mainstream = bad. It doesn't necessarily!

Whatever songs they played...both festivals were treated to the best band they'll ever have there.
