Yeah more likely headline set for Trees unless they only do Glasto this year which could be a possibility
Really want turnstile but fearing them playing in Sweden on the 14th and only being space for a headliner on the 13th, unless the chats aren't the only headliner on the 12th, makes it less likely
-
Likely nothing, but 2000 Trees reposts on TikTok are exclusively videos from the festival except the last one which is a Turnstile meme with next to no views

Are we sure Caroline is even headlining out right? feels like a similar situation with amyl this year who also played brixton academy the same week.
Understand they might be downsizing but I wouldn't put it past them to get a bigger act as well

Soul Glo! Didn't expect that but that's awesome.
I was thinking it could happen after seeing them announced for roskilde but wasnt the most confident, very excited for them again

Chase and Status tickets for Leeds are £26 at the O2 Academy and they're still available. They aren't even remotely close to a MSW headliner. You should all come down though, be a right laugh.
Bicep are more like it and were one of the top 5 things I saw in a year of about 2.5 festivals.
Thats a DJ set not a live set that they would have to bring to headline MSW, don't see it happening but they've subbed download before with a live set so I'd say theyre a MSW sub atleast

gorillaz announced their guests: Bootie Brown, De La Soul, Hypnotic Brass, moonchild Sanelly, Paul Simonon, Popcaan, Shaun Ryder, Rowetta, Sweetie Irie, Yasmin Bey.

Never been to APE, the main stages look like theyre really far apart on the map. Whats it like in reality?

Saw Turnstile at Outbreak and 2000trees this year and both times they came on later than their scheduled start time (like by 10 mins or so). I think when I saw them in Leeds they came on like 10 mins late. Still finished around the scheduled end time and did the full set.
suppose its not off the cards for them to just play faster unlike a lot of other bands where that would sound weird. Saw them at 2000 trees as well and I assumed pup was just late as well not that turnstile still managed to finish on time.
TBF they like to drone a but at the end with their glittery noises and idles like to spend a good five minutes droning at the start of their set with colossus so its not off the cards to be there for almost all of both.

So Idles vs Turnstile
feels so dumb theyve done it like that when idles and turnstile are the only two punk bands and will have a lot more crossover of interest than them and anyone else on the lineup, makes sense to me to swap idles and pusha T's slots

Does anyone have recommendations for heavier bands on the line up?
There's normally a few dotted around, but I only really know Dinosaur Pile Up (who frustratingly look like they'll clash with Shame) and Pulled Apart by Horses)
DITZ and Enola gay are incredible post punk heavier than shame, beach riot are a really good fuzzy alt rock band, courting arent mega heavy but post punk somewhere between sports team and shame, the hara, venus grrrrls, dream nails, gen and the degenerates, Tom lumley, carsick.

Headlining in Italy doesn't necessarily mean you headline in the UK. Im not saying they cant headline festivals in the UK, just they would be an out there shout to top the bill at Reading, which in the main sticks to mainstream headliners.
Will be interesting to see what kind of crowd they draw at APE, I think thats more their scene than R&L but if they struggle to sell well in central London, no chance they can headline ReadingThis seems wild to me. Might just be my echo chamber but Tame Impala seem like the second most reading band after AM. They seem to appeal to rock fans loads, are most rap fans fave rock act, and used relentlessly on tiktok. They might struggle at APE because of the pretty weak undercard, king giz definitely should have been on their day, but on a reading day would probably be the first day to sell out

In fairness when Liam was announced for R&L 2020 people were talking about how he's not big enough to be a headliner, it's only in the last two years and specificlly these Knebworth dates people are saying he's one of the biggest acts in the country.
Exactly, I was a bit underwhelmed when he got announced for 2020 because I dont keep up with him and havent really cared about what he's done since he subbed in 2017 but absolutely see liam is there now. when he was announced for 2021 It might have been able to go either way then if biffy was announced at the same time but now its no contest.
Do think if biffy wasnt a replacement theyd be MSE but also they seem happy to play whatever so it'd probably depend on how demanding the other headliner is

Liam has sold out 2 nights at knebworth he would never do MSW
was more meaning both Liam and Biffy could have been MSE

My mistake - i got the olympia cap wrong for some reason i thought it was 3k. I hope they do MSE although the other stage booking maybe dampens the chances.
I'd argue they could book say Sam Fender for MSW instead of Foals on MSE for arguably more impact with the R&L crowd. I hope they get to do it though, class band
How am i the first downvote on this montrosity
when I googled it was listed as 4000-10,000 and I kinda assumed that as its used as a convention centre they were different caps for different uses, felt identical to ally pally in there

QOTSA have a reasonable hardcore fan base in the U.K. but are in no way a slightly mainstream draw, esp for the current Reading demographic
I think thats how most big rock acts keep the crowd they have these days. Think biffy and liam are close to interchangeable between MSE and MSW when pitched againts eachother but liam beats QOTSA to a british audience

Foals haven't got bigger than when they co-headlined imo. They would be a weak MSE but strong MSW - similar size to QOTSA or Biffy really.
Looking at the venues they've sold out they have. 2016 playing Wembley (12,500 cap) to this year with 4 sold out shows in the Olympia (10,000 cap) plus a Brixton academy show just in London. I saw them at their 3rd night in the Olympia and I really think you'd need an incredibly strong alternative to justify putting them on MSW

Have 2x slowthai tickets going for brixton tomorrow, willing to take under face value
2000 Trees 2024

co headline above the chats maybe but still feels unlikely, I know bands tend to keep eu and uk dates in separate posts now too but them also posting all their eu dates in one place makes me less hopeful as well
