  1. At the Neck Deep signing in London last night I asked Ben their festival plans and if they are playing trees. He said that they do have some festivals to be announced this summer and they would love to do trees. Sounds to me like they won’t be there from that.

  2. Surprised we’ve not had a proper leak yet. I know Blink and Fred are pretty nailed on but given we tend to get Download leaked in the last 24 ish hours pre announcement and over the last years we’ve had the Liam early announcement and BMTH interview, feels strange not knowing for sure.

I've only seen FOB twice, both times at large outdoor shows and they've been as dull as dishwater despite having a visually impressive stage show. Will be interesting to see if they're able to improve on that for a headline slot here.

QOTSA seem to be on the best run of their career in terms of live shows, no doubts they'll smash it.

I may be biased as FOB are my fave band, I’ve seen them 8 times and have been underwhelmed 3 or 4 times.

Personally think the shows I saw on the SMFSD tour this year were them at their absolute best and if people are willing to give them a chance they could smash their set.

Guessing this is a prediction and not a leak

Sorry probably should have said. My mate sent it to me says he’s been told it’s real but asked my thoughts. There’s at least one spelling error so I think it’s probably just a reasonably good prediction.

  5. First time Downloader but done a decent number of festivals before UK and abroad. In my experience it was overall an excellent event. Great line up, lots of fantastic performances, particularly enjoyed Neck Deep, BMTH, Dino Pile Up, Bob Vylan, Jinjer and Callboy. Felt it was run and managed as well as it could be, plenty of facilities, staff were all helpful and really visible throughout (which made my girlfriend feel safer than she expected).

Only a couple negatives in my opinion. The WORST thing for me was people bringing their chairs into the arena, particularly close to the front or sitting 4-5 people across, frustrating as f**k when running between stages to see loads of bands. The other thing was that the area felt far far too small for that volume of people, appreciate it was a sell out but a bit of extra square footage would have gone a long way, particularly for the Opus stage. Didn't find it particularly problematic getting in/out (queue on M1 was mad but that was expected), never waited more than 10 minutes for food/water/toilets/merch, just pick your timing wisely and its gonna be fine.
