Probs won't make it again if it's in August, would much rather be at Green Man. Tbh they'd have to get a pretty stellar headliner to bring me back as the last editions have left much to be desired. I can see them continuing to re-book acts they've already done like LCD soundsystem and Bjork.

Absolutely agree. May/early June is a way better time than August as there are fewer similar UK events at that time and interesting acts are in Europe for Primavera etc. It was always the perfect intro to the summer festival season for me.

It would take something extremely special for me to go again too. I'm not sure I'd even take freebies as I've really not enjoyed the crowd, especially for the past couple of editions.

  2. I've got 2 freebies for KT Tunstall on 10th November at The Windmill in Brixton. They were prizes from one of the Save Our Venues money raising efforts during lockdown. They are assigned to my name but can be transferred if done soon (ID of lead booker strictly required on the door).

Drop me a message if you'd like them.

Picked up a ticket for the Schlagenheim day, mainly because they've not played bmbmbm the last few times I've seen them. Reluctantly, all three is a bit too much!

They must be due a Windmill gig at some point before the end of the year now they're back from the US? I've got followthatpage tracking that one just in case!

Does anyone know if there's a Twickets equivalent across Europe? Or if Twickets is the go-to there as well?

I'm asking specifically in regards to Arctic Monkeys. Ticket releases for those dates and the U.S ones did not come at a good time for me - U.S is Ticketmaster just fleecing people through their 'resale' tickets, as per, but not sure where would be best to try and pick up tickets for a European date.

TicketSwap is the equivalent I've used for Dutch/Belgian tickets.

edit: I misread gfa's post above and just realised they'd already said the similar.

I've got a ticket for Dry Cleaning at Przym in Kingston tomorrow I'm not going to use, if anyone wants it? It's just a QR code on an email and am happy to send on to someone who'll use it.

I was lucky enough to see them in Peckham on Thursday and they exceeded my expectations but am a bit gigged out to go again!

    Gone!

Self Esteem is clearly a brilliant, empowering project that's resonated nationally with a huge number of people and resulted in a tonne of self-celebration, friendship and joy.

    Definitely. Eloquently put!

I guess the question I'm really asking is was the nomination as much for the project as the music?

  8. Perfect result for me. Simz is brilliant, as is the album!

I've still not wrapped my head around the Self Esteem love here and in general. I'm delighted she's doing well as I think everything she stands for is great and I really want to like her musically because of that. However, I don't think she's particularly good or interesting musically, live (I've seen her 3 times at various festivals) or on record. What do people see that I'm missing, or is it more buying into the person rather than the music?

This has to be the year Osees headline the Far Out and blitz through the greatest set the festival has ever seen.

Some stuff I'd love to see:

HTRK, Joanne Robertson, Maxine Funke, Gia Margaret, Dummy, Pretty Sick, Slift.

    Smaller band predictions:

Projector, Cowboyy, Gently Tender, Heartworms, Queens Head, Famous, Regressive Left, Welly, Bleach Lab, Sheafs, Katie Anne Malco, Splint, Heavy Lungs, Candy's Room, Mui Zyu, Tummyache, Krush Puppies, Public Body, Bishopskin, For Breakfast.

    Lovely suggestions as always!

I camped next to the (now) drummer from Projector at GM in 2019, so that's them as good as confirmed! 😛

I hope not, it was good to have festivals  spread out over the whole summer with their run in August.

I feel the complete opposite. The end of summer is jammed with great festivals and I preferred the early June dates before much else has got going.

did successful people queue or keep refreshing?

I queued. I think refreshing might put you back in the queue

I refreshed intermittently on each device. The one I was refreshing at the time got through at the same time as the others which were on auto refresh (all different networks, so not an IP thing).

  12. Similar views here. I've seen 2 acts in there across 3 festivals and didn't even venture in this year. It does give a completely different change of pace though and I think that's welcome.

    What would the alternative be?

I'd like to see some live acts in Round The Twist - somewhere between Rising and Walled Garden level, perhaps unbilled? That's not really a replacement for the style of act you find in CW though.

  13. It was a bit weird, wasn't it? I kind of regret going but we couldn't sell our tickets. It left me understandably completely cold. Objectively, I didn't think the performance was that great either.
