  1. Even if the festivals are still on, no one under 40 (who don't fit the criteria of having it early) have even had their first vaccine, not to mention those who don't even want it.

And I'd say 95% of the Slam Dunk crowd is under 40.

    Honestly it's looking really grim.

I hope they don’t recycle the lineup again. I think they’ll keep some but I’m hoping not all. Out of all the headliners, Biffy are the most likely to stay IMO.

I'd be fine if it were something like Biffy/BMTH/Maiden with a mix of 2020/21/22 bands.

KISS - Maiden - SOAD it is

    Fuck sake.

Imagine this: 2021 was supposed to be Rage/MCR/Metallica. 2022 was supposed to be BMTH/AC/DC/Rammstein.

Instead we get Kiss (who are mediocre yet too egotistical to step down), Maiden (let's face it Biffy would not headline if Maiden were available) and SOAD (who everyone seems to think are a big deal, but end up being disappointed)... Third time lucky.

  5. Whether you like them or not BMTH should get the headline spot over Biffy, or at the very least co-headline with them. They've been considered a headliner since 2016 yet we still see the same recycled bands. Kiss and SOAD should skip 2021 as well for headliners that were booked in advance...

BMTH - New 'wildcard' band since 2021 will have a huge turnout regardless who headlines

Foo Fighters - New 'established' band that would no doubt draw a huge turnout in day tickets alone

Aerosmith - Can't have Download without a recycled dinosaur band on their "last ever tour"

  6. Biffy, Green Day,

    SOAD, Kiss,

    MCR, RATM,

    BMTH, Muse,

    Maiden, A7X,

    Foo Fighters, Metallica,

    Aerosmith, Rammstein,

    FFDP, Ozzy

Realistically any of these could headline next year, but i'm expecting something safe like Kiss/SOAD/Biffy

  7. (assuming we have a new lineup, with a few bands rolling over from 2020)

BMTH/BIFFY CLYRO / Gojira / The Ghost Inside / Billy Talent /  Asking Alexandria / Lacuna Coil / Wage War

    Zippo: Status Quo / Airbourne

FOO FIGHTERS / Royal Blood / Architects / Killswitch Engage / Black Veil Brides / Hollywood Undead / Palaye Royale / Madina Lake

    Zippo:  Within Temptation / Mastodon

METALLICA / Judas Priest / Disturbed / Rival Sons / Arch Enemy / Motionless In White / Jinjer / The Hu

Zippo: All Time Low / Busted

Doesn't matter how old I am. They are, or at least were a 'screamo' band. I'm not the only one who has said they wouldn't fit Download now.

BMTH have never been a "Screamo" band.

Also If they did Pray For Plagues and Diamonds Aren't Forever at All Points East, they'd almost certainly play a heavier set for Download. They aren't limited to Amo songs.

  9. Realistic or not, what lineup for you would make every year after underwhelming?

Friday: BRING ME THE HORIZON / ARCHITECTS / Parkway Drive / While She Sleeps / As I Lay Dying / Bad Omens / The Agonist

    Zippo: Lamb Of God

Saturday: AVENGED SEVENFOLD (playing Waking The Fallen in full) / BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE (playing The Poison in full) / Within Temptation / Papa Roach / Arch Enemy / Flyleaf (feat. Lacey Sturm) / Crossfaith / Jinjer

    Zippo: Pendulum

Sunday: MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE / FALL OUT BOY (playing older songs) / All Time Low / Don Broco / Hollywood Undead (feat. Deuce) / Falling In Reverse / Motionless In White / The Used

    Zippo: Sabaton

    Way too emo/pop/punk

Weird how times change in no less than three years. Reading and Leeds always used to be a primarily rock festival. Now people consider it an indie and hip-hop festival.
