The sound was atrocious, and the singer looked deranged, but I found them compelling too.

I think too that Starcrawler were interesting, but her voice was hard to hear (I was able to hear just the guitarist). Drums also were badly amplified.

Many bands of Day Pro stage are quite compelling. Amaya Lauricirca was very good

  2. It rained always a little the last years during PS, but it was never a problem. Three years ago it ended with a huge rainbow. It's gonna be good and we'll have a lot of fun.

Speaking of line up, there a lot of very small good acts that I'm discovering. Can't wait

  3. I don't know if anyone else does this, I always make an Excel page with just the bands that I want to see with the correct times and stages. The day before I check if there have been changes and usually I have to make just two or three corrections. I print it and it's my companion during the Festival, along with the app (for daily changes/unexpected shows) and the booklet they give you at the entrance

I have both. I've got some login details to pro as well so I'll look there too.

If you have also the PRO pass there's so much more you can do!

As it's stated on the site, you have:

    • Access to all the exclusive activities of the Day Pro Conference: conferences, workshops, showcases, meetings, receptions, etc.
    • Inclusion in and access to the data base of accredited professionals.
    • Free access to Night Pro, exclusive area for professionals on the festival site, and access to the Press Lounge, that has work areas, lockers and a press set.
    • Access to all the concerts in the line-up of Primavera Sound festival.
    • Speedy access to concerts held in the Auditori (indoor venue with limited capacity), except in the case of those for which a reservation ticket is necessary.
    • Preferential access to concerts by Primavera Sound programmed in venues with limited capacity (clubs and concert venues) in the days leading up to the festival, until venue is full and except in the case of those for which a reservation ticket is necessary.
    • Access to the festival site via exclusive entry lane.
    • Welcome Pack (limited edition).

While we're on the information train, this isn't my first Primavera but it's the first time I'm doing press for it.

Can anybody with experience of this give me some tips? I know there's a press tent right by Mordor but not sure what it will be used for.

I have not a personal experience but a friend of mine that is a photographer had the press pass last year. Are you registered on the press portal? You can download all the information from the site

Absolute noob post here and I'll understand if it's ignored, but the festivals two weeks away now and I'm so confused about so many aspects of it.

What days is the festival actually on on festival grounds?

And which locations are the venues as opposed to stages on site?

Is night pro accessible to public?

I'm sure I'm over thinking the complicatedness of this, but when everything's in Spanish and the layout is new I'm so lost haha

The first time I had the same questions, sort of, because it's a huge organization. Day Pro is a stage located at CCCB  and it's open to the public. Night Pro is another stage on the Forum. Most (if not all) of the bands that play at Day play also at Night. Not to be confused with Primavera Pro, that is dedicated to seminars and showcases, reserved mostly for press and music industry.

Primavera virgin here trying to understand the site and have a couple of questions if you wouldn't mind helping. Am I right in assuming Mordor refers the furthest east area with the Mango and Seat stages? How difficult is it to get in and out at peak times? How long would it take to get to say, the Pitchfork stage? Are there toilets and bars inside 'Mordor'? Are the transfers worth using or are the queues too big? Thanks!

Hi! Yeah, you assumed it right, Mordor refers to Seat and Mango stages, that are pretty far away from the others (the nearest stage is Night Pro that is almost halfway from Ray Ban and Primavera.

To get in you should arrive early if you want a good view, but it will be difficult to get out before the end of the set because it gets super crowded. If you are planning to see anything that is right after, you should stay on a side of the crowd and leave before the end of the set.

I believe that the transfers will have a huge queue at peak times. I would suggest taking the transfers just in case you need to move from Mordor to the beach stages, otherwise to get to Primavera or to Pitchfork / Adidas while streets are crowded can take at least 20 mins of walking.

Port a potties and toilets are everywhere around the forum. Certain zones have queues and other are deserted.

Near Seat and Mango there are bars and food trucks, you're set with everything

Seems like you know get the wine pairing for the same price as before AND VIP for the day you reserve a table. Great offer!

On the interview in catalan above, Gabi said that would like to get rid of the VIP thing, at least in front of the Mordor stages (he doesn't like it), but for logistic reasons they can't.

Catalan speakers, anything interesting in this interview with Gabi?

    https://www.ara.cat/cultura/Gabi-Ruiz-arribem-convertirem-festival_0_2009799060.html

It is pretty interesting, most of the interview focuses on the economic aspect of the organization of the festival, and how this aspect influences which bands are selected to be on the cartel. Gabi says that they don't want to have just old people to attend PS, and he wants to choose the right music to gain more young people. He says that's difficult, there are so many aspects that need to be considered. There are many festivals that are getting bigger and PS needs to stay competitive, keeping its autonomy and independence. And they want to keep offering the great quality and variety of music as always.

It’s rarely that hot, it starts at 5ish so you escape most of what heat there is.

Usually it’s just pleasantly warm though need an extra layer from midnight.

Actually sometimes it's very hot during the day. Usually I go around on a t-shirt, Spain can be pretty hot in spring. I would recommend to bring a sunscreen or a hat if you aren't used to hot direct sunlight during the year, or for the more delicate skin types. After sunset the air tends to become more freshier, due to the Forum being on the seaside, and during the night the temperature go down at least five degrees. Just take a jacket or a sweater with you and you're done

there's a cloakroom by the entrance apparently, and last time i went there were lockers by the entrance to the beachy bit too (where you can also hire a beach towel - i assume it'll be the same this year) :sungum:

I think that they changed something this year and maybe there won't be cloakrooms or such this time

Bit of an aside but bloody hell Protomartyr are good and will be missed. The new one out today features Kim Deal.

Love them. I also like Preoccupations' latest album and really hope they will play hidden stage this year

Seconded. I got Hidden Stage tickets one time, for Bob Mould doing a solo set, and since I had queued I figured I'd get a ticket for the other band, who I didn't know, and who shall remain nameless. Bob was great as always, and a couple of hours later I went back for the second band, who kept everyone waiting for more than 20 minutes before they made their entitled way onto the stage. And they were crap. Complete waste of time, lesson learned!

Thanks for the replies, it must be some band that I am willing to see in a sort of desperate way :)
