I think we will get to zero daily cases in Italy in 3 weeks/ 1 month. Then you have to sum I would say at least 3 weeks of additional lock down. So Italy will get back to normal around the half of may. If Spain is 1/2 weeks behind and all goes well, it will end at the beginning of june there, definitely too late

I'm sorry to sound unoptimistic, but as things stand at the moment it is very unlikely that in Italy there will be zero contagions in a month, even less in 3 weeks.  I don't think there will be any festival in the whole 2020, neither in Spain, nor in other parts of the world, unless a vaccine comes out soon (which is unlikely, according to WHO). If you consider Wuhan and the Hubei area in China, it all started with them and they are still struggling with contagion and deaths. What we could see in the next month in Italy is a possible drop in contagions. It will take a longer time to reach zero. Other areas of Europe like France and Spain are struggling with the beginning of the contagion, with a curve that is growing exponentially faster than in Italy. In addition, there is the danger of "returning" infected people like those who are experiencing in Wuhan. In other words, people who have never been ill are no longer receiving the contagion from within the country, but from those who are returning from abroad. If in Italy and in the future, in Spain, there will be zero contagion again, there will be the United States potentially still in the process of getting the virus, and they will not be able to come to Europe (there is a good chance that in order to avoid a second "returning" pandemic, the various nations will keep their borders closed until this evil is eradicated).

Pre-Early birds on sale on Monday. Anybody know what time? They go very quickly.

The Tickets that will be on sale on Monday are the Pre-Early Bird. They will be on sale until July 3rd, and they're only for the 2019 full festival ticket holders (at the cost of 145€). I don't think that they'll run out of those tickets in few hours. It could happen to the Early Bird ones, on sale from July 4th and until they sell out. They'll cost 150€. No sale start time was specified anyway

My friends and I are staying near the Plaça de Tetuan, according to Google maps we're about a 15 minute walk from the nearest tram stop and the same distance from where the shuttle bus drops off, just wondering if people had preferences between the tram or the shuttle? Is one quicker/more reliable?

They are all reliable, but the Metro is the easiest to use to go around. To go back from the Forum to where you stay at night you should use the shuttle (that will be free of charge this year). If you are really near Tetuan you will find the Tetuan Metro station. To get to the Forum you can go to Passeig de Gracia station and take the L4 yellow (direction: La Pau) to go to the El Maresme/Forum station

(...) I always take the Nitbus or the Primavera Bus. They aren't free, this year the shuttle will be 2€/ticket.

EDIT: the mail from PS (Everything you need to know before coming to PS19) states as follows:

"To leave the Parc del Fòrum there will be a shuttle bus from the site to Plaza Catalunya. The schedule will be from 10pm to 1am on Wednesday 29th, from midnight to 6am on Thursday 30th May, and from 2am to 6am both on Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June.
The service will be for free, thanks to SEAT. Once again, the tram service (line T4) will run non-stop from Thursday 30th May to Sunday 2nd June."

On the website ("How to return" section) it still says that the ticket will be 2€, I don't know if it does refer to the public transport

I have a soft spot for the bar on the way down the street from the metro

Which one is it? Or which metro station / carrer?

Edit: maybe you mean the one near the forum? "La Rambla"?

Has anyone had good experiences with the free bus back to place Catalunya ? I can see us staying later this year but not keen on lots of queueing to get the bus.

I always get an Airbnb in Raval so when I leave the Forum I always take the Nitbus or the Primavera Bus. They aren't free, this year the shuttle will be 2€/ticket. Last year the queue was very fast (10 minutes max). A good experience in general, no problems whatsoever

Has anybody got any tips on ensuring I eat the most authentic Spanish food as much as possible? I'll be in the city a fair so any good tapas places or street food recommendations would be good but I'm also wondering what the festival food is like. Any suggestions on decent food I can bring in to the festival would be good as well.

Ps. Cheap as possible too plz

A similar question but on bars/drinking places?

Where has the best atmosphere? I only know Can Paixano which is great...

I was waiting for someone from Spain/ Barcelona to reply to this, but I can give some suggestions. Take note:

As already stated, Can Paixano (the Xampanyeria) is a very good and distinctive place, located in Barceloneta. Cava wine and various kind of  tapas and burgers. Very crowdy (and turistic). I don't remember the prices ? Alternative, not too far: El Xampanyet, very small but typical place where to eat good tapas standing at the counter.
In the mercat de la Boqueiria you should definitely try Bar Pinotxo, first bar at the entrance. Really great atmosphere and food. Also try el Quim de la boqueria. Tapas, black rice, all great!
If you want to eat a good paella: El rey de la gamba in la Berceloneta, or the bodega vasconia in the Barrio Gotico (they make a very good sangria also).
The best ones are spanish hang-outs: Can Mano (barceloneta), very good prices and the food is great! Quimet & quimet, small, super typical, you must eat standing. Very very good montaditos and wines.
Pretty cheap but good: Guixot is a catalan restaurant where you can eat a lot at a low cost. It's near the rambla de Raval (the place with the gat de Botero scupture, you can't miss it, good bars all around the place. Try the Ambar). Another cool bar is Kino near the MACBA, great coffee, burgers and tapas.

    Enjoy

I've done ten and I usually flake out towards the end and don't go to the afternoon ones. Yeah, I'm starting to avoid mordor as much as possible; I just don't like the atmosphere there and it adds to the walking as you say.

I too tend to run out of energy toward the end (not a young dude here). Some more stops and a lime red bull / coffee usually help me to attend everything as scheduled. But sometimes I skip some second choices in between the unmissable shows, if I'm too tired or if I loose myself into chatting with friends.

The afternoon shows don't subtract energy to the rest of the day, there are often surprisingly good acts at Day pro, and there's a very relaxed atmosphere

Looks great but exhausting just contemplating getting through that lot!

I have a similar program every year, this will be my 7th.
Not really exhausting though. I always take an airbnb in Raval, so the CCCB concerts are around the corner and I can see them easily (and I can take the nit bus to Plaza Catalunya when I leave the festival late in the night). From there, I can go back to the room to refresh or go straight to the forum.
Also, the obvious: the stages where you can sit (Ray Ban on the stairs, Primavera on the grass) are useful if you need a moment to rest.

Another thing, I usually avoid the mordor zone, this time I'll see just Courtney Barnett, Interpol and Erykah Badu on Thursday. So I will walk less

  12. My schedule (as for now):

Wed 29:  Mow > Melenas > Hatchie > Meuko! Meuko! >  Big Red Machine > Fucked Up

Thu 30:  Mayberyan Sankulotts > 5K HD > Birthh >  A. Smyth > Elena Setièn  > Alice Phoebe Lou / Odina > Soccer Mommy > Stephen Malkmus > Shonen Knife > Lonker See / Courtney Barnett > Interpol > Erykah Badu > Myrkur / The Comet Is Coming > Fka Twigs > Nitzer Ebb

    Fri 31:  Sistemas Inestables > Belau > Phoro > Lucy Dacus > Snail Mail > Sons of Kemet XL > Beak> > Piroshka > Jawbreaker > Suede > 5K HD > Low > Kate Tempest > Bliss Signal

Sat 01:  Mr. Perfumme > Han > Alondra Bentley > Tirzah > Harunemuri > Built To Spill > Shellac > Drab Majesty > Jarvis Cocker > Sistemas Inestables > June of 44 > Stereolab / The Messthetics / Bush Tetras (the worst clash) > Roisìn Murphy > Modeselektor live

Sun 02:  Filthy Friends > Christina Rosenvinge > Agost > The Beths (half set) > Efrim Manuel Menuck > Miya Folick > Flaca OR Coco dj set

This may have already been noted but The Messthetics (Joe Lally and Brendan Canty from Fugazi)

Some days ago (one week?) I announced they were going to play for sure. I talked with Brendan Canty after a MC5 show (he's playing the drums with them), and he told me that The Messthetics were going to play at Prima

  14. I can see why some of you can be disappointed. From my own perspective (personal music taste) it's a great line up. Some special and different /diverse acts that we won't see in any other festival. No great headliners this time, but I rarely get to see more than one or two mordor gigs usually. It depends, but I always enjoy the undercards. I arrive on Tuesday and go back home on the next Monday. I love Primavera a la ciutat, and the closing Apolo show. If possible, Prima is to enjoy in its entirety. I really like Adidas and Pro stage shows, saw great gems there.

I think that having big names to headline helps also selling tickets faster and this time maybe they won't sell out very fast tho...
