Just out of interest, if Swift and Kendrick Lamar were two of the headliners, do people on here think that that now suggests that Macca is now more unlikely to be the third headliner? Wouldn't you expect the third headliner to be a band? Rather than having three solo artists, or am I overthinking it?

All this talk about how certain rock bands wouldn't want the "third down" slot.... Could it not be seen by the bands in a different way now with the way the festival is evolving.... that the "Rock slot" is the only slot for bands of that nature? Essentially creating a 4th headliner position. Seen as just as much of a privilege to be playing as a headliner slot? Aerosmith, Pearl Jam or whoever.... are perceived to be THE rock act for Glastonbury that year and are therefore playing that particular slot on the Pyramid. Seems pretty fucking cool to me, just as cool as getting that headli

Really can't imagine that Taylor Swift will be the headliner to close the 50th anniversary of Glastonbury. Am I right in thinking she's performing elsewhere on the Friday and Saturday?

Ah sorry - I didn't realise that it was confirmed. Ah well.

Just to throw something else into consideration.... ...were there not a few rumours going around that one of the songs on Coldplay's new album includes Daft Punk? 50th anniversary, Coldplay headlining, then all of a sudden.... ?

You've sold it to me. Firmly believe these are the three now. Wouldn't be remotely disappointed with that either.
  7. Thanks all, I'm getting the impression then that with a bit of walking around we should still be able to find space then for a 6 man tent even on the Thursday morning/afternoon. I have to say I'm surprised, I was under the impression that by Thursday lunchtime we would be walking through fields full of tents and struggling to find anywhere to pitch up. I've been four times previously. Camped at WV for one, did ZooLoos for another year and then the other two times just camped within the festival but had friends both times pitch tents and then I arrived on the Thursday evening so didn'
  8. So just to clarify then.... this isn't a potential solution to the increased demand, in fact it was clear that it wasn't a solution after there was clearly more cons than pros in the very first post.

Why? What difference does it make, no different to the attraction a headliner pulls to that field in front of the Pyramid on the three nights. I quite like the idea of it being just as busy for the very start of the festival. Would be a very suitable way to start off the 50th anniversary celebrations.

To be honest, I never expected there to be anything in print in such a milestone product of the festival, in case circumstances change. What I do think could be a possibility is that they use a headliner to promote the book on the day it's released. Makes so much sense considering the views and coverage it would get as everyone jumps on the back of them announcing a headliner, sharing the post with the headliner holding on to the book or a recorded message of them with the book etc.
  11. Interesting.... having read through the headliners thread with people repeatedly saying that they think Macca will be one of the headliners, I now don't feel as confident. The first comments came from Michael Eavis (with the whole "don't make a big thing about it, will you") when asked about Macca playing Glasto. I now get the impression that Eavis said this shortly after Macca had pulled out of 2019 and naturally wanted to try and get him to perform at 2020 instead. So nothing concrete there at all. Just pure hope. Obviously when he is interviewed he claims that it's a "possibi
  12. If you don't mind me asking, how much was it to do this?

    Diana Ross

Lionel apparently hasn't sung Endless Love with Diana Ross for 37 years.... ...fully expect that to change by the time Diana Ross' set has finished on the Sunday.
  14. What do people think are the chances that Liam Gallagher will perform again in 2020? Didn't he refer to his "Glastonbury Residency" during his 2017 and 2019 performances?

A lot has changed over the last 10 years though. Pretty sure there will be a few more things this time to celebrate such a big anniversary.
