You wish. We’re still trying to recover from the winter rain in Glastonbury.
The ground might feel ok under foot, but you don’t have to go far to find the custard.
The rain from last night has put us farming folk back at least another week.
It is not gonna take much to start churning up those fields at Worthy Farm when the build starts properly.

We are not out of the woods by a long shot.
    Bring wellies.

Foos confirmed then! I've got your number, Dave.

As someone who works in this field I can testify to it being surprisingly difficult when you're working with the amount of last minute changes and different proofs/copies that these people are probably working with. Can't help but feel sympathy for these people who likely don't have to do any other marketing nearly as high pressured as this all year!

What's it like in the Acoustic field between July and May? Pretty lonely?

How does Tilda Swinton get tickets every year?

my money would be on her highly sophisticated setup of automated website change monitoring of hacked high availability seetickets servers every october... maybe

    Crane action at Ribbon Tower.

Talking of work, I had better go and do some now rather than watching the action down on the farm 😂

    Unacceptable attitude i'm afraid 😄

I have done so little work over the past couple of weeks and intend to continue to do very little work until the festival is done.

Then it's the countdown to october...

You know, I have no idea. Do they even have a stage/tent? I only ever remember the polar bear and there being a skatepark/half-pipe, with maybe some DJs in the vicinity!?

yep they have a stage adjacent to the skate park.  saw easy life there last year - absolutely cracking - they were clearly so relaxed on their come down from their pyramid slot earlier in the avo and it was a right party!

any chance of two shell or overmono this year?!

i discovered overmono on friday and can't get enough of 3 or 4 tracks off their album, so I'm really praying for them to be announced.  looks like it's most likely down to the block9 drop... iicon was where they were last year i believe.  if only i'd known!

Also, thanks to @bennyhana22 for the SCALPING recco that you made to someone else and i jumped on.  Absolutely loving it and i'm praying for no drastic clash when they're on, as i am really looking forward to seeing them!

Oh yeah ideally a live set somewhere. I have no sense of how big they are. It seemed like there were a lot of people at IIcon last year but I guess it is a bit different at 01.30 in the morning. I feel like it would be weird seeing them in the light in the early evening. I would have expected them as a silver Hayes headliner if they were going to be on a "main stage". Dunno though, my radar is a bit off for this sort of thing.

never heard of them before, but you guys talking about them has made me just stick on their new album whilst analysing the new map.  it's lovely.  fingers crossed they show! thanks for the tip-off.

Really good/interesting post, a lot I agree with.

Clearly you can't get away from it now. As I said last night I've seen it banded about in local media this time, I don't recall every seeing that here with an explanation of how the ticketing system works. I don't think that much can be put down to BBC coverage. Yes there is more of it but that's inevitable as the years pass by and it's always been prominent on the BBC. I remember at 15/16 watching it on there and thinking it looked pretty special but never actually made it there until I was 22; mainly due to money/being a student prior to that. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to watch a few hours coverage and realise it's smashes all other festivals out of the park, and that's only with seeing the main stage coverage.

It's so hard with the ticket thing. As much as I'd like to sit here and say there should be a loyalty thing in place or a ballot I'm not sure it would be right to. I remember coming away from my first year being absolutely blown away and then having to wait two years until the next one due to the fallow year. I don't envy Michael/Emily, yes it's great to be able to sell it out so easily/quickly each year without an act announced but on the flip side so many people are left disappointed. I for one couldn't come up with a fairer system that would suit all involved, it's so tricky.

This is the first time I've not had a ticket in 7 years and it feels so bad (especially given it's my birthday today) but it really is luck of the draw, all you can do is get as many hands on deck and try your hardest. It's hit me hard this time with the McCartney rumours as someone who grew up with a Beatles obsessive dad and it would be a dream to see him headline the Pyramid. I'm not giving up hope yet as there are still options, albeit not nailed on/guarantee's but there's a chance I guess.

    It's gonna be a long 6 months.

    Happy birthday!

  9. Hi all

I bought 2 full weekend packs from FNAC that includes wristbands (that need to be activated) and some mugs and tote bags!

However I now can’t go, so looking to sell the 2 wristbands.

Is it as easy as activating the wristbands and the buyer would be good to scan in on the first day? Or would you need corresponding ID when you turn up at the festival?

If anyone has any advice and/or would like to buy these, please reply or PM me.

    Cheers! Frenger
