Yeah me neither but I had no idea what I was doing tbh.
I was there on my own because after The National I walked off with someone and like 10 mins later realised I was supposed to be letting it over to the JP for FJM so then I legged it. My friends just left me to it and went without me cos I was being annoying as fuck.
I ended up talking to a group of like 3 people at the back of the tent either before or after FJM who I got the impression were eFesters. All I remember is one of them was a woman wearing beetlejuice trousers.
What would make you think you were annoying?

Possibly not the right thread to post this on, but hey ho. I didn't try for tickets this year as I'll be too busy next June, but looking at the forum on Sunday morning, I really didn't like the fact that people were just randomly posting their details and asking people who already have tickets to try again for them.
Those who have got through 'seem' to have a slightly better chance of getting through again than those who haven't, so it seems a little unfair to just ask them to do the hard work for you at the expense of others who are in the same boat as you.
Maybe if those people who have successfully got tickets stopped trying to buy for others it would give everybody else more of a chance?

forgive me if this is a stupid suggestion but surely Tom Odell could fit latitude quite nicely?
Yes he could. I'd definitely be in the woods when he was on though. Bit like when Rag and Bone man was on this year.

Anybody still waiting for their tickets? Mine haven't turned up yet. Two weekend tickets and a camper van pass.

The way that IOW is laid out means that those who really want to be close to the action will probably end up camping in the sites closest to the arena, meaning that the further you walk, the quieter it should be. I'm sure you'll find an ideal spot, just be prepared for a long walk. I'd say expect an hour's slog from mainstage to where you might want to camp. Tent jumpers will probably go nowhere near the furthest campsite. Obviously stay away from paths.

Have we still not got stage times? I can see Clashfinders for festivals that are ages away, but nothing for Latitude ?
There is a clashfinder, although it's rated as 5 at the moment (ie don't even think about printing), and it's only got the two main stages so far.

I've always found that security seem to want you to go to the campsite pretty soon after the music has finished. One year me and my friends stumbled across this guy who had a laptop and speakers in a wheelbarrow, and he started off a little party in the area between camping and the arena. There was no bother at all, everyone was being well behaved and just having fun. Security quickly shut him down though. Not very festive!

Long shot but I don't suppose anybody has a spare?

About 2 minutes after you arrive.

Quite young. I would recommend paying a bit extra for VIP tickets. The kids don't really want to be paying extra, so they will be in the slum fields. Loads of space in VIP, and a nice bar.

They set up queueing systems on the local streets. It always seems very well organised to me though. If you're early they park you up and allow the next ferry's cars to get through.

Boy George twice. Brilliant both times.

I never experienced any problems with traffic due to the ferry. I've been on the ferry to the island for festivals a few times, and on the way out there I always found the system to work very well. At least once we were late, and we were simply put onto the next boat. Don't expect the same on the way back though. Had to wait about 12 hours once for a re-booked ferry.

If it’s sold out then that will be it. It’s not a very big area for campervans and when it’s full, it’s full. I guess people are falling for the fake 50th anniversary thing as they don’t normally sell out
people don’t seem to care how much the CV tickets or ferry tickets cost and have snapped them up, after 3 years we are going elsewhere, as much as I like the Festival, those prices are obscene. Actually it’s the feeling of being ripped off that is obscene, as I’ve said before, £236 for a cv ticket is just a rip off when other festivals charge less than half that and some almost a quarter, as for the ferry companies ramping up the prices over the Festival for what is already the most expensive ferry service in the world is just money grabbing. Yes it’s supply and demand but it gets to a point where you think fuck that and go elsewhere. There are plenty of other festivals out there.
I'm absolutely with you here mate. Economies of scale should mean that the ferry is cheaper for the festival, or the same price at least. Doubling or trebling your prices when you know that you can fill every seat and every vehicle spot on every ferry is just taking the piss.

I'm sure there will be more. Why wouldn't they sell more when they make so much from them?

The best thing about this festival is all the other random stages and events - 80's tent, cirque de la quirk, stumbling across good acts, great atmosphere .
Serious question. Have you been to any other festivals? I found IOW to have very little to offer other than the main stage and the big top compared to, for instance, Bestival.
Obviously compared to a festival like V, Isle of Wight has plenty going on, so I suppose it depends on what you compare it to.

That, unfortunately, is economics.... I still suspect that if they added another £50 to the cost they'd still sell out... might take a little longer but they'd still go - precisely because there aren't that many - it's a limited commodity.
They'd sell out at £20 in a moment, they also sell out quickly at £236.... if you were selling them - as a commercial venture - which is what the festival is - what would you rather they go for? It's about revenue maximisation. They need to make money to keep themselves in a job, to make the festival worthwhile, to pay the council, police, artists etc etc.
As I mentioned - I don't agree with it. but it's market driven. Fair pricing would be good. But what's fair?
If people didn't buy the CV tickets at this prices - the price would, eventually, come down... possibly....
As for subsidising the entrance tickets... how many CV tickets are there? 100? Discount the £230 CV ticket to £100. That'll give you £136 x 100 = £14k. How many entrance tickets? 50000? That's a 28p per ticket discount....
I think my notion of money is pretty level. I buy a weekend ticket. Includes camping. I pay for a hotel. £100/night or so.
For me, that's comfort and value for which I'm prepared to pay! Same with the CV.
Apologies for being brutally honest but that's just the way it is.
Saying that CV tickets have sold out is telling a little lie. They continually add more tickets, so that when they are available, people who want them snap them up before they 'sell out' again. I've been a few times and if I remember correctly, a few years ago CV ticket prices were as high as they are now, so my group chose to camp. After a bit of a backlash, the following year the CV ticket prices were reduced dramatically, so we went in my VW. That first year there was plenty of room left at the back of the CV field, enough in fact for a coach sized winnebago to fit easily with nobody else anywhere near it. Apparently they had sold out that year too!
We've stopped going over to the island now for festivals (we used to go to Bestival too), because we were sick of being fleeced by the ferry companies and by the festival for a CV ticket.

Although Lee O'Hanlon has cocked up here, and is trying to blame everybody else, Iain Lee comes across as being very childish in this interview. He didn't allow Mr O'Hanlon to name anybody, then a few minutes later demanded that he name names. Nobody comes out of this particularly well.

Agree. Where the hell do they get a figure of £15.80 in fees from?
