  1. With the insane demand this year and approx 1/3 of every group of 20-30 people only being successful for tickets, would a smaller sister festival (maybe around 60000 capacity in the North) on the same weekend be an idea?

Maybe not quite a Reading and Leeds scenario but a Primavera and Nos Primavera situation (some but not all main acts, maybe the Sunday legend + one headliner) with potentially an option for people to trade tickets between events so that they end up at the same festival as the majority of their group.

It definitely wouldn't be close to being as good as Glasto and the atmosphere of the Pyramid and Stone Circle but it would sure beat the hell out of wallowing at home missing out on a cracking line up.

in case mad cool isn't enough for you..

while searching of other concerts in Madrid around the festival dates I saw it on a Spanish forum, kind of a festival called                "Noches del Botanico" with just one concert in a day for more than a month.

I already got ticket for David Byrne concert on 10.7. I don't really know the other acts around mad cool dates.

seems like a nice and small place for concerts and pretty cheap, the only problem is that the first world cup semi final is on that day..

anyone else interested? or been there?

My flight is due in at 8pm on the 10th and the tickets for David Byrne state 10pm. Seriously considering giving it a go!

If anyone has details on stage times/curfew from the previous years festival it may aid my decision :)

It's like Mad Cool have spied on my Spotify playlist and created a lineup just for me! Unbelievable.

I hear you man. insane line-up. I was going to book regardless based on the initial announcement but Tame Impala and Alice in Chains added made sure of it!

Jumping aboard the Confidence Man bandwagon! Never heard of them before that post and now slightly addicted.

They've just announced a few shows in December. Definitely worth seeing them live.

I'd never heard of them until Dot to Dot festival where I saw the synth player from the Moonlandingz walk into a gig and thought it must be interesting at least. Turned out to be Confidence Man and it was insane. Saw them tear up the Crows Nest a few weeks after!

Assessing the setlist, looked incredible, then I saw "Intermission: Little Spanish Flea" and lost it, what a fucking huge jam that is.

Haha, wish I hadn't seen this!

Heading to tonight's gig. Last night looked something special. Can't wait!

The Meters still occasionally perform live with the full original lineup......

This would be a treat! ^_^

    Other suggestions:

Alison Moyet could do a good job on WH. Regret not missing the start of Foo's for her now.

Might be too soon for Songhoy Blues again (were ace on the Park), Amadou et Mariam could provide a good alternative!

  7. As I live a mile from the stadium I decided to go down and soak up the atmosphere outside. Ended up getting extremely cheap tickets from a tout outside and saw the last half in all it's glory.

Due to the setlist it was hard not to compare with Glasto. Sound was nowhere near as good but at least I was able to see the band (and Thom grooving to Lotus Flower). compared to the view between the sound stages at the Pyramid. Still had a great time and The Bends was a treat

  8. I unfortunately didn't make it out early enough so started with Whitney on the other. Will keep tabs on them, would love to catch one of their own shows.

  9. Future Islands - Regret nothing as I don't think i've ever been as happy but by all accounts the xx and Anderson Paak seem to have both been great.

Katy Perry - I was always heading towards Liam but last minute decided to stay for the show. It was a spectacle, better than I thought but Liam would have been enjoyable with mates

  10. I also need 3.

Thundercat - them changes, had high hopes. Cried as it was so good.

Foo Fighters - Skin and Bones. Never played the first 3 times I saw them and they drop it in the final third of Glasto. <3

Jain - Makeba. Had the entire room bouncing and was stuck in my head all of Sunday night. Good going for a song I had only listened to once before.

  11. I decided to go and check her set on my way from Goldfrapp to Moderat and was completely won over after one song. Bouncing atmosphere and Makeba is still floating around in my head this morning.

10/10, now to properly dig in to her material when I get back.

  12. Incredible atmosphere for Future Islands. Seen them a few times before but that was special.

Also cudos to whoever brought the air mattress to the King Gizz gig! Ridiculous scenes

Theres always a chalk board outside the crows nest showing who is playing that day. Someone usually posts a photo of the board each morning on here

Fully expect Jagwar Ma to be playing and/or DJing the Crows Nest one night

My favourite Glasto venue, lovely vibe, even if you only get to lie on the grass outside listening the band playing inside, taking in the most stunning view anywhere on the site.

Jagwar Ma DJing on Sunday again (hopefully a sneaky live set beforehand) as a minimum. Met Jono outside a gig earlier last month who confirmed it.

As for KG in Crows Nest, will be there without question
