Fontaines D.C possible for the Sunday TBA slot? Possibly waited for them to release new music & sell a good bunch of tour tickets before announcing

don’t get me wrong, I’d be absolutely chuffed with that! I would think it’s more likely a bigger pop act if anyone though. I don’t really see what BBCR1 gain from holding them back

I’ve been thinking more in the realm of Billie Eilish as a very special guest or Twenty One Pilots - both have albums out around the time (9 and 2 days before the Sunday respectively) and both would drum up immense hype for the festival - especially as Harry Styles was a previous held-back slot for the Big Weekend in previous years

its always been around £50 for a medium-larger act there

Some shows are definitely a bit cheaper still, acts who are pushing it a bit trying to do ally pally

oh see in my mind, Ally Pally is a £30-40 venue. aside from acts with prestige (thinking The Smile who can get away with a high 50s), it’s always felt like a sub-40 ticket. I’ve been 15-odd times there and for the majority they’ve been around £35

but at this point it’s simply impossible to ignore that every venue is just more expensive now. my gig calendar has drastically shrunk because I simply can’t afford it anymore. to me £50 for Fontaines is silly (love the band, the new single is a scorcher). I’ve seen the likes of Dua Lipa, Hot Chip and Everything Everything there - all around £30. Twenty One Pilots circa Blurryface was £30 - obvs 2016 is a different story. Vampire Weekend and LCD Soundsystem were £45 and £50 respectively. the latter two were exception to the rule pre-pandemic. but I guess it just means we have to expect most shows in larger venues to cost about 50% more. which in turn means I’m going to approx 50% less gigs

    a. quick glance at Dice does indicate almost every show at AP is around £50

£70 for standing, wow!  Thought it would be 50 tops

damn! when I saw them at Ally Pally on their last UK tour, I got two standing tickets for £63.50 total, fees included. that can’t get one standing ticket this time round. hey, get that bag i guess!

No luck yet, O2 priority queue has been paused for ten minutes now and my wife’s app is crashing.

Which venue are you trying for? I have access to the Eventim Apollo presale if needed? Gets straight in as its via Eventim. Tix secured for VW and Twenty One Pilots this morning. I've had cheaper Wednesdays

  5. "To secure tickets from Pots 1 & 2 you will need to enter the postcode of your home address at the time of purchase. Anyone breaking the rules and regulations governing the ticket purchasing process may have any purchased tickets cancelled without notice.

In order to stop people using false addresses, we will ask you to provide proof of residence at the address given during the ticket buying process. This will be done by cross-referencing ticketholders registered addresses on their Ticketmaster Account against the approved list of postcodes for Pot 1 or Pot 2 (whichever applies)."

Will be intrigued by this. For example, last year we used a family member's address who lived in pot 1 to unlock tickets. However in the booking process I must've used my regular address (def not in pot 1). So who knows if they will cancel tickets this year

Biffy Clyro are doing 6 nights, each one with an early album in full.

Infinity Land would be my choice but I suspect I'd be unsuccessful.

Managed to secure stalls for London nights 2 & 3, which were my two preferred. Shepherds Bush is going to be a v fun venue to see them in. The Forum felt small for them a couple years back. While I'm very excited for this, I do hope they've got a few big albums left in the tank (I quite enjoyed their most recent LP for what its worth)

just planning to go away that Pendulum weekend ffs. will be incredible that

yeah that instantly grabbed my attention. £67 a pop according to the venue website however. might just wing it with the charity donation

  8. Susanne Sundfør is set to announce some dates next week. Unclear if they’ll include UK dates but would be thrilled if that’s the case. Her latest record was such an understated gem of 2023. Could see her crushing an early-evening Park set

You wont regret going to this one. Get a ticket.

Absolutely pumped for this. Ticket booked instantly. Had a ticket booked for their MOTH Club show only for it to get cancelled. Fully prepared for my pathetic dwindled frame to get completely destroyed at this show

Just bought a ticket for TANGK at Village Underground. Idles seem to like them. There's a pic of Joe on Idles socials wearing one of their hats.

so are they…. Idles? no socials, nothing on Spotify. playing a respectable venue in a months time. will be interesting to see!
