Victorious Festival 2024 10th Anniversary
Frangipane replied to Jack01825's topic in other UK festivals
I saw James Walsh play in Southsea tonight, and he's playing Victorious. Not a biggie, but he always plays a great gig and draws a big crowd. -

I was in Southsea over the weekend, and thought I'd have a look at the bandstand field. Hoping we'll see the return of the seaside stage this year. 20240211_123720.mp4 -

I'm trying, and failing, to find that in The News online, so frustrating! I'm impatient now! -

Yes, he was. I've asked him where he saw/heard this. Anyway, great the announcement is today! -

Does anyone know if there is a particular day this week on which they'll announce the second wave of acts? I can't remember from previous years. -

They've been on sale for three weeks, so anyone looking for a double room will be out of luck, they sold out in about ten minutes. I've booked a single room for four nights at Rees Hall, so convenient for the festival, and much less expensive than a hotel anywhere near the festival site. -

Definitely. I wouldn't buy a ticket via social media unless it was from a friend, or friend of a friend. Absolutely full of scammers. -

I don't even know if Truck is part of the Superstruct. -

Is there likely to be much crossover between the undercard of Truck, and that of Victorious? I'd love to see The Wytches, The Magic Gang and Fat Dog added. -

Rees Hall booked for 3 nights; still relatively good value for a bank holiday festival weekend. -

I'll be delighted if this is true, so I'm hoping Wave weren't just passing on the info from the screenshot, rather than having been given actual confirmation. -

Like many others on this page, I've been to the festival every year (Covid, aside) since its inception, and this year's was definitely one of my best. I'm useless at guessing line-ups, but I've bought my weekend ticket for 2024 and will enjoy following this topic over the next few months. -
You should look at Portsmouth Uni accommodation, especially Rees Hall which is opposite the festival site. Goes on sale in January; sells out quite quickly, especially the double rooms. FFortis year's festival I paid £220 for three nights bed and breakfast in a single room with ensuitebathroom, and could have added Thursday night for another £60. I believe the double rooms were £290. .

Cracking view from my room at Rees Hall, this year! 20230825_081505.mp4

I've only stayed at Rees Hall, but I know Greetham Street Hall rooms are ensuite. About a 30 minute walk. It's very near Portsmouth and Southsea train station.

More rooms have been released at Greetham Street Hall, £220 for a double room, three nights. https://onlinestore.port.ac.uk/browse/product-selection?product-token=1943c510aeeb4acdd0eac3b738603a5a

I've stayed at Rees Hall twice, and only needed to show my confirmation email, but had my debit card ready in case it was required. As for what you need to take, this may depend which halls you've booked. Towels, bedding, a travel kettle, mug, spoon and a small amount of tea, coffee, milk and sugar (I expect more can be provided in the restaurant, but I didn't ask as I'd taken my own anyway) were provided. This was the single room I stayed in last year.

Last year, I was able to check in at Rees Hall early, it was about 10:00 and I received an email advising me of this
-
I've not stayed there, but can see from the website you'll be provided with towels, bedding, tea and coffee, just not breakfast. For future reference, if you want to book Rees Hall, the closest to the festival site, the double rooms usually sell out the day they go on sale so it's worth keeping a close eye on that 🙂

I stay at Rees Hall, and you get bedding, towels, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and a very good hot and cold buffet breakfast

Yes, there's a lift. Rooms are clean and very basic, good enough for somewhere to sleep and shower. The double rooms sold out on the day they went on sale, but I believe there are still some single rooms left. Decent breakfast. Easy walk to the festival site. 324079720_896797251591117_3024066103735360920_n.mp4
