  1. Quite the depressing thread! I'm excited for them.

Regardless think Glasto did a great job with the scheduling to put both LCD and EWF at the same slot. Obv LCD after 5 years reuniting and EWF being such a rare act it gives something great for everyone. I do with EWF was another time slot for my own greedy ways, but I will just go with the flow and see where I land.

New album is awesome, I've had it on repeat, I can say not one track has been skipped

Yeah I actually think I like it more than their older one. A lot of people really love Cleopatra which I do enjoy, but Sleep on the Floor is my favorite track thus far on it. O

  3. Out of all the threads on this entire forums this is the only one that somehow gives me anxiety. The ironic part I quite enjoy shows in the rain... But I open this and always regret doing so. Even the good weather reports scare me. This is a scary thread!

I went in 2014 but never made it back last year. In 2014 it was £10 a go or £25 for the 5 days. Lady at the front was really nice about it though, suggested we go in etc and then decide if we wanted to pay for the day or the whole week, we went for the later, feels amazing having a cold shower after the sauna and i was surprised by how good the sauna actually is considering it's in a yurt

Is this one with the cold showers located in the tepee field or where would I find such a yurt?

  5. Wednesday opening ceremony. Also interesting! There is so much in these reports...

" There was a large audience in the Sacred Space on Wednesday evening and significant issues with ingress and egress were observed. This area is extremely popular on Wednesday evenings especially if the weather is good. This year a special guest was advertised and due to perform before the firework show so this may have increased the audience. The Sacred Space is a large field with a potential capacity of 30,000 people yet during the rest of the event is more of a quiet chill out space and would be highly unlikely to ever reach the maximum capacity. Although the field is large the entrances are not and are insufficient to ensure the recommended exit times required in the event of an emergency or indeed even for audience comfort. On the Wednesday evening there were significant bottlenecks at the entrances on the south and west entrances, with the east and north entrances being free flowing. The crowd density was not evenly spread throughout the field either with more people in the south part of the field than the north. There were also long queues for the toilets. A further bottleneck was observed between the healing and craft fields into Croissant Neuf and Green Futures during egress. There needs to be better crowd management plans in place if the firework show is to continue to be so popular and a rethink on whether this space is appropriate for special guest appearances on Wednesday evening. The communications plan for special guests needs to be considered as can impact on crowd management plans. The special guest was the Mexican Danza de los Voladores shown above which was later moved to the Circus Field."

  6. This is very interesting. The part about crime decreasing but tent theft increasing super interesting. They definitely do not want any pee on the land. Thanks for posting!

This part also interesting" The key areas that the council would like GFL to build on for future events are:  Better control of late-night noise with particular attention to the Thursday evening/Friday morning"

being realistic, as in acts with a decent chance (i.e. Dandy Warhols, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Angels, the reformed Luna and Belly, Leon Bridges won't be there, have no chance - lots of these american acts with nothing booked at all around those dates just 4 weeks out would hardly be over for just Glastonbury...even TVOTR - which would be nice - are hardly going to sit around for a week and run up expenses while waiting for their July 1st Hyde Park gig), I'm really not asking for much...

    Radiohead (it's happening)

    Richard Ashcroft

    Gary Clark Jr

    The Duke Spirit

    The Joy Formidable

    Tame Impala

    Fun Lovin Criminals

Lou Rhodes (I think I'll find that out she's on when I see that chalkboard outside the Bimble Inn on my first walk up to the Park)

OoOoOoo did not think of Gary Clark Jr. Good one!

I'd guess it's more that they are unable to announce a fair few of the acts until after a certain date.

Frustrating though, because I want to see who will be on at the same time as Coldplay, so I know if I have the green light to sell my Manchester tickets. Grimes headlining JP may tempt me to keep hold of them.

Haha we are doing the same thing with Lumineers. Have two nights of tickets for the Lumineers and waiting to see what they are clashing against at Glasto. If we can catch them at Glasto probably skip Red Rocks at least one night but if they are clashing bad we will keep them...

Does the status change to prepared for dispatch before they are sent and email?

I got the following status changes throughout today:-

    1) Your tickets were prepared for despatch on 24 May 2016. Tickets will typically leave our office the same day.

    2) Tickets have been despatched from our offices to the address provided. If you have not received these by 2 working days before the event, please contact us.

To track your order go to www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/track

Ours went through the same process and the email did not come until after our See Ticket status went through the #2 on Cazzatron's post.

Other I should have thought, I think they're too big for Park except maybe headlining which seems unlikely.

I too really want to see them this year, missed them back in 2013(?) because of a clash, caught the end and it looked great.

They are headlining tons of stuff in the States. They have back to back nights of very sold out Red Rocks Amphitheater shows which in comparison only a few other people have sold out back to back Red Rocks this year (LCD Soundsystem, 21 Pilots). They are headlining Life is Beautiful fest along side Mumford and Sons. At least in the States they are a very big deal.

  11. Until I caught them 2013 Bonnaroo I thought they were just very cookie cutter pop in my headphones. After seeing them live I changed my tune they were fantastic. They played  a cover Bob Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues that blew me away. My favorite song they played though was "Ain't Nobody's Problem" which I'll link a copy of that here.

How is that fairest? That's rewarding effort. Same way the current system does just to a lesser extent. It rewards effort. The current system reduces that effort to the point that most people can do it and have a similar chance. Shops will always then have bias to those who live near them (it's less effort for them), people who live further but can drive (because there's no public transport that early in the morning), people physically fit enough to be able to queue...

It's rewarding effort, and the level of effort that people think should be rewarded always happens to be the level they're comfortable with making.

Well it is going to take us about 3 days of travel to make it to Glastonbury give or take. There are people coming from Australia, New Zealand, South America, the States. The shop que idea seems like the least fair of any. It just means people in the UK have by FAR the best chance while anyone else would be out of luck or very rich to afford to fly all the way out there for tickets and then fly all the way back again for a festival.

I'm the same with the speed typing, but if you have your numbers on a digital note pad you can just 'copy & paste' on the booking page if you get lucky enough to get that far

I'm young and that is all I did. Control + C then Control + V over and over. I had registration numbers up, address, credit card info. We all know the questions the checkout is going to ask.

  14. Just now, DeanoL said:

They're fair on people who can physically do that. I'd imagine if your wife ended up in hospital on ticket day, and you had to stay at home and look after the kid, you'd be complaining how unfair the system was. Or if you worked nights. Or were disabled.

Life happens and this is just a music festival? I work days and got up at 2am was up for an hour, went back to bed for 3 hours then went to work. It wasn't easy.

Fairness does not mean we have to account for every permutation. Fairness means everyone has the same shot at tickets. And we all have the same shot.

  15. It is interesting to hear all the perspectives of everyone on here. In the States every festival bans flares, campfires and fireworks. I thought they looked awesome.. In a crowd using them seems like more stress than its worth but then again never been around them.

All I do know is the camp fire situation is brilliant! Great opportunity to sit and chat with new folks.
