  1. It hasn’t been an issue yet tbh and it’s definitely not worth even a slightly heated debate, but it basically comes down to either absolutely everyone being able to read this thread or some people feeling like they have to exclude themselves from it. Politely asking for any spoilery photos to go in a separate thread isn’t too much bother I’d say.

maybe the people that don't want spoilers can start a 'glastocam no spoilers' thread of their own?

    Sure.

    Or…

Maybe people who want to post site pictures that aren’t from the webcam could do it in another thread that isn’t the webcam thread where we talk about the webcam 😁

I actually feel younger in my 60s than I did in my 30s, when I had all sorts of responsibilities and worries (financial, family, work) that I just don't have any more.  I'm still fit enough to do what I want to do and with the freedom to enjoy it.

And it's such great fun embarrassing the offspring who now have to deal with all the things I had to when I was their age.

    Happy days.

This is what I’m looking forward to! My old man is having an absolute whale of a time in his retirement, bought himself a camper van and is constantly off somewhere exploring and meeting new people. He’s doing it right, well proud of him.

  4. Maybe a separate thread for photos with spoilers would be nice.

Then people who want to look at the webcam but don’t want spoilers can still have their fun.

Starting a separate thread for no spoilers webcam chat doesn’t seem right.

  5. When I got into my 40s I realised how wrong I was to ever think I was old in my 30s. No doubt when I get to my 50s it’ll be the same with my 40s. And so on.

Dunno what the moral of that is tbh. You’re only ever as old as you feel maybe? Basically I’ve completely stopped worrying about it now.

A DJ I follow on Instagram was moaning about how old they felt on their mid 20somethingth birthday the other day. I definitely made this actual face ->🙄

Ahh... pockets.  I love pockets.  Its a shame most clothes designers for women don't agree, or if they do give you some, they are a fecking useless size.  Bring on the day sack!

Saw this debate was largely male dominated, so thought I'd add the problems the other half of the population suffer.  If you ever see a girl without some kind of rucksack, look for her partner with a huge bag for the both of them! 🤣

I’m that partner! It’s almost like I’m her festival support vehicle. She’s lucky I like her so much tbh

Until the guardian bag supplanted its use in recent years I'd always used one of these.  At my first festival in 94 (Phoenix) we were sat watching Jah wobble and none other than John Peel came and sat down next to us, opened his messenger bag and tucked into some sandwiches.  I'd come to the festival poorly prepared and jeans pockets weren't cutting it.  He had everything he needed for the day in there, I bought one from a stall later that day and it became my staple for festivals thereafter.

A messenger bag makes a decent pillow or backrest when sat down, can swing round in front of your belly to make a little table to roll a spliff on whilst standing at a gig or just provide a little buffer zone of a few inches if people bump into you.  Mine has been to every festival I've ever been to.

This post wins the thread. I’m definitely getting one, does anyone have any recommendations?

  8. It was kinda being born back then, all sorts of weird shit was going on down there that wasn’t part of the official program. Nothing like on the scale it is now though, think the first year of Shangri La was 2008?

Mad how much smaller 2003 was, definitely didn’t feel it at the time. The map looks well sparse!

  9. Why is it that whenever people discuss how they choose to do things slightly differently based on their personal preferences it always rapidly descends into petty tribalist squabbling?! That’s a question for society at large btw, this thread is just the latest in a very long line of examples.

Bags vs cargo short ffs 😂

  10. About 5 years back at the stone circle on the Wednesday night I saw a group of full on clichéd hipsters with immaculately manicured beards sat grilling various meats on an actual BBQ they'd brought along and carried up there. Looked like way too much effort, on many levels.

They were gazing about seeming a bit bemused that about 20,000 people had turned up in their BBQ field to watch fireworks.
