They seem an obvious booking for Mad Cool based on last year's lineup. Wouldn't necessarily rule them out of PS, though.

Τhey played PS 2013, and i think it was a 3-hour set. I don't think they will return, even though it would be great.

I meant for the tickets. They start selling tickets at 3.

i highly doubt that 1500 people will show up there until 3 and buy all tickets. i think if someone show up around that time, he will get a ticket.

Got it. Thanks for the replies.

    Hidden ab

Nd wolf parade vs Spiritualized is interesting. Will split the crowd a little I expect

i think Spiritualized will be only for full festival ticket holders (plus an extra 2e ticket probably)

  4. To be honest, I am not sure about the line up right now, because i don't have clear opinion for at least 30% of the lineup.

When i start the digging I'm sure that i ll be pretty happy with the new material.

My big complain has to do with the Auditori, which is one of the 2 factors that make this festival really special (the other one is the location). Great venue and acoustics, i had many of my primavera highlights there. I'd prefer them  to expand the use of it. No Auditori for Friday and Saturday is bad news for me.

All translated. Some people saying its auditori and you need 'credit' but I don't know the reliability of the translation I used. Someone said 'to stay calm it is ok' which I assume is anyone can watch the show.

Official forum someone suggested VIP have priority access. It is typical primavera this innit. How can it be unclear how to access a show listed on the poster?

it is definitely Auditori, and only full ticket holder have access (Wednesday is a free day, but not for this).

i just dont know if we need an extra ticket, like previous popular Auditori shows. This will complicate things

Flicking though Twitter and seeing conflicting things about the spiritualized show. Bit frustrating as I'll fly thur if there's not an excellent chance of seeing that. If its a ballot I wouldn't take my chances I don't think.

What have you found? Im also flying Thursday and im thinking to change my tickets just for this

  7. 13 minutes ago, Orens said:

Because they won't write "until 29th January at 5:59AM". Also, it has happened in the past.

Why not? Actually when it is about change in price and payments, they write it exactly like this. It is on their website. Day, time, timezone.

it is not that important since we ll have the lineup anyway soon,

but as i read their website it is obvious that someone can buy his/her ticket until midnight today. When the lineup will be announced? I dont know.

Or they could leave the marketplace open on the early morning of the 29th until the lineup announce.

No one would complain if they keep the ticket prices lower for a few hours longer than they said...

Yes sure, i guess there is no probkem with this. But primavera management is very good with details. So why to announce that today is the last chance( actually they said few hours left), when someone can buy at the same price on 29 in the morning?Anyway, im just saying.. it doesnt make big difference for me ..

  9. 11 minutes ago, xxialac said:

I don't see why they couldn't release the lineup at midnight tonight after two hours of buildup.

They do always seem to like to do things differently.

I feel that maybe you are right. What concerns is that they said that price will change with the announcement of the lineup, right?

And today they announced that last chance to buy on this price is 28th January. So, after midnight they either announce lineup, or they are closing their marketplace for some hours, until the announcement of the line up in the morning.

Definitely can see Nils playing and in the Auditori - perhaps even ticketed. His new album is now streaming.

Totally agree, Auditori, ticketed and probably 2 times. For me it is sth big.

Kamasi Washington just announces a tour which could make him possible for PS https://www.kamasiwashington.com/tour/

Kamasi is playing Razzmatazz on middle May, so we can rule him out. he was there on 2016, so no reason to return that early

Highly doubt that the video gives us any clues!

    I agree.

Probably the announcement will be with the form of a film, and we just received the intro.

I see no reason to go and film in the desert, just for this one-minute video.

Fair play... What about on that stage down by the beach where Jackmaster played last year? Can I wear my flip flops there?

Come on , even Jackmaster was wearing flipflops at the beach area! You know, my main 'problem' with flipflops is the attitude that sometimes comes together. You usually notice this in festivals with camps, where people don't care that much for the concert, but just to have fun. No problem with this, but i think primavera offers sth different.

  13. 9 minutes ago, jackarmy said:

Hahahahaha, what?! Why is this a problem? You headbanger!

it is a matter of approach and aesthetics my friend. I don't want to see toes and colorful patterns at a Slayer or einstürzende neubauten concert. Or any other concert.

  14. In my opinion, only the fact that we are making comparisons between Primavera and Madcool, is a huge success of Madcool. Some months before, i didn't expect this, to be honest. I was expecting Madcool to book bands like green day, foo fighters, rhcp etc, and all of us just ignore it.

I think they have made great job for a quite new festival, and im happy for the people that will attend it.

Primavera, on the other side,  is much better for many reasons , and personally I am very attached with it, but I see no point when people underestimate Madcool or try to prove their bookings not worthy. I strongly disagree with this attitude. We have to see things in a greater scale and not judge only by our own experiences and taste.

I admit that i am obsessed with Primavera , I think it is the best festival in the world. But this is only my opinion, and i don't see myself some kind of elite, because i'm going there every year. I see a lot of people having this attitude, and i think this is dangerous for the festival. On the contrary, i think we have to be critical. Only with this way, the festival we all love, will keep having very high standards. Having in mind, that at the last 2-3 editions there were some problems (high prices, people loudly chatting during concerts, wearing costumes, some flags or long branches, some others wearing swimsuits and flipflops etc)  is very important not to accept everything, just because it is Primavera. I strongly believe that primavera is still a festival paradise, compared with others, but for how long? For instance, I read that this year they will have pools in the vip areas. Does this have to do with music? The competition with madcool, a more mainstream probably festival, is a good reason for primavera to stay music-oriented, well-curated,  without all the useless extras.

Fleetwood Mac cost enormous money according to most reports. I think they'd be far out of Primavera's budget. not sure they're even touring again yet?

they'll do their own shows with tickets costing €100+.

They have a concert in some days in NY, but yes, you re right, i guess they are too expensive for European festivals (they played Isle of Wight 2015 though).

edit: not  exactly a concert. it ll be a tribute, but they will play as well in the end

  16. I think we should not pay much attention to the video, mostly because we don't know the people who participated. Some people get easily excited, some people not. Also, it is a matter of experience. When PS announced Arcade Fire in 2014, for me it was huge. When PS announced the same band last year, i didn't care at all.

Apart from this, i'm definitely sure that there will be surprises (also in the headliners). Like every year. Who was expecting Grace Jones, Van Morrison and Slayer last year? Very few I guess, at least not me.

And a question if someone knows.. Not a fan, but there was some speculation about Fleetwood Mac, but not anymore. We ruled them out for a reason?

    I dunno.

Something like Bjork-Beck-The National-Arctic Monkeys-Nick Cave-Yeah Yeah Yeahs-Father-Father John Misty-War On Drugs -someone like My Bloody Valentine would hardly be the worst set of acts to headline a fest.

It's not as if they're booking Eminem and Limp Bizkit for the topline.

And the lineup isn't late. It's released the same time every year other than for the 2017 edition.

    i don't know, i don't want to be greedy

this line up would be wonderful.

But still i believe that AM don't suit with the rest and i'd prefer sth more unexpected, as the slogan says

  18. 1 minute ago, xxialac said:

On the bright side, the more bands on the topline like Arctic Monkeys, the more time spent away from Mordor...

I appreciate the effort to see the bright side, but for me it is shocking if they actually booked AM, and all this time we are waiting for this

Belle & Sebastian must be quite likely, no Spanish date on their European tour, which finishes in Glasgow on May 25th

they were more than great at 2015 edition, and their new songs are really good. But isn't it too early to return this year?

Yeah, that is true, however I´ve seen two Thundercat live shows already and they are very much to consider as jazz concerts, with a little urban spice. So I would consider it most likely to have a nice auditorioum spot similar to the one of Kamasi Washington in 2016 (where I was lucky enough to get a front row seat :-) )  Time will show!

i bet you were also at Suede's concert before and you moved forward for Kamasi! i did the same and i was front row too! what an experience!
