Yoyo, haven't been on here in time, good to be back!! So our group this year all went to Boomtown, about 40 of us, it was absolutely banging. But I still don't think it is as good as Glastonbury. So I'm trying to get people to come, but obviously it is to understand how good Glastonbury is / how it is worth the dollar without having been. So far, I have 3 people on board. I have come for advice, how have you convinced people in the past?? How do I do it!?

Hype!! just two weeks to go, should be a cracker

Couldn't get a ticket this year, feeling down knowing can't go.
Tried to break in last night with telescopic ladder, camo gear, gloves etc.. obviously got caught, it's impossible!! Security were very nice, but looking over at Glastonbury at night and seeing the flames of Arcadia lighting up the valley and coming so close, got the ladder to the fence then got caught is painful. being so close and yet so far, don't how to fill the weekend now, even though there is some good stuff going on. It seems that everyone talks about Glasto, u cant forget it's there having fun without you gutted. Tried hardest, could get tickets in the 3 sales, couldn't volunteer due to exam schedule, sad times
how to fill the void left by this weekend

Happened to my brother and his girlfriend last year, they managed to get in with a scam where they had to pay an extra £150 to guy who get them who a back workers gate, but they turned up with loads of proof and didn't get let in it's a poor system

Maybe the wettest pre-festival period....but the festival hasn't started yet and the rain is due to stop.

It should of course be noted that the pics on that Twitter feed are of areas which have experienced a significant amount of heavy vehicle movement over the weekend, at the same time as there has been a consistent level of heavy rain. The car parks and campsites won't have had any significant amount of vehicle movement since the trakways were laid and the grass mown a few weeks ago so the ground there is likely to be in a much better state. I think this is borne out by the pictures posted by others on here.
But the ground will be highly saturated, it takes quite a long time to drain this amount of rain, bit of walking on it and it turns straight to mud

I've just had a text from a friend who helps run the chai tent in the greenfields, she's been going for 15 years and says this is the wettest Glastonbury ever and that she woke up to a flooded tent. :/ doesn't bode well, heavy rain to continue today, then few days of drier weather, but will it be dry for Wednesday?? Doubt it think we can expect a wet Glastonbury underfoot as there are still quite a few showers forcast for the 5 days on top the current rain, deposits a few days of dry to come

The site looks amazing, but I'm obsessed with (a) monitoring individual puddles for a real-time wetness report and (b) shouting at my monitor for anyone I can see to GET OFF THE GRASS!

Last year on the Thursday night we struggled to get up the hill by John Peel stage, sliding about in our wellies. By morning it was rock hard again and trainers weather.

If your going to do it, at least try and follow this website, doesn't have to be completely following it, but anyone who follows this would be extremely unlucky to die from taking ecstasy. The website covers sensible doses, substitutes for before and after and even sells a guide kit, defo worth a look if your going to drop some pills over the weekend. I always have followed when I have done it and it's been great fun

On the same topic and it is a long shot..
Will there anywhere to watch the Australia v England rugby match on saturday morning???
-
It's a long story why I won't have it with me in the when I first go in. Yes, it is a terrible idea, I'm currently working on a plan to get it done and this advice is really helpful, cheers guys

Hi all, just a quick one, is it possible to get a rucksack and tent dropped off by someone outside the festival, so could I go out and get it then come back in with it??

When I was 18, there was no need for pacing! As you get older, stamina goes out the window. Enjoy it while it lasts
I'll be sure to go extra hard then

Can I just say that I'm all for pacing, but surely not at Glastonbury!? Maybe cos I'm only just 18 that I have a different perspective, maybe I'll learn one day

i'VE heard it shall we an ever so lovely blend of sun and showers, just right I hear, ok lets wait and see, we do like a nice bit of sun on us throughout but then to have that occasional light shower is refreshing and reminds of how lucky we are to have NFC and NFR!!
