  1. is anyone going to the inaugural Lindisfarne festival? any thoughts on it. I love the fact that it is so small and beautiful location. Not really interested in any of the bands -  although i bet i am inspired by them when i see them! Just like camping - drinking beer for breakfast and generally being at a festival! forgetting about real life and work.............

Any insider info or rumours going around?

  2. Don't do this. People have paid good money for their tickets and they don't want the field being over capacity because people think they can try their luck and get in for free. I know it's not ideal for those who haven't got tickets but there was never any doubt that they'd sell out.

I'm sure people would be very unhappy if a few hundred people snuck themselves into the the emporers field and reduced the space in there for those who had paid.

hmmm - but they do start filling the camper field with over flow tents - so there is that.........

  3. camper van folk - try this - having taken a camper van before - i know it would be fairly easy to park in the camper van field - despite not having the correct pass. (unless they have totally changed the road system). once you are through the main gates and in - it is young workers that wave you through to the correct place - we were waved all over the place wrongly - then corrected it ourselves by spotting the vans parked up and just went in. so - just follow signs for campers - i think it highly unlikely the lovely but very flakey youths will stop a camper from going in the camper field! once your parked your parked. worth a shot . nothing to lose - just act lost if you get questioned!

  4. Just had this email through -

    Hello All,

just to give you a pre warning there has been heavy rain during the build of the event, so the ground is very soft and muddy, just wanted to give you a warning so you can plan accurately.

    See you in the fields!

    The joys !

where did you get this email from?

  5. didnt mean to sound like a miserable git there!!! its a lot of fun - very convenient - people are friendly in the majority, decent facilities! i just felt very sorry for families who had booked there - young kids being terrified by very threatening sounding fighting manchunians, who after a few beers were vile. before you pitch your tent just stand still for a while an listen to your neighbours!

  6. its noisy  -and packed to the point of bursting. we stayed in it last year - thinking that the extra bit of 'luxury' in some way meant a more decent class of campers. it certainly was not. its very near the arena so there is that noise - also the campers are very very very loud. remember there is not a quiet camping after stages end ethos - like the family field etc......take your ear plugs

  7. not yet - i think its a bit late for them to spring this on some folk - who may be already on their travels, no access to printer etc etc etc............  so if you rocked up with your proper postal ticket would they not allow access do you think!? or if we can just show them the eticket on our devices - assuming we all have said device and good enough internet in a field.

  8. They give you it when you drive through gates where you show your tickets, you will get the correct wrist band and sticker for your paid for camp option. They then know which way to direct the car by looking at the sticker, different areas for different camp sites

  9. Does anyone have the email saying we have to print off e tickets? It seems to say our official tickets received through post are no longer valid and we should use the printed ones instead? On another point, does anyone have experience of deer lodge? Are the reception staff useful? Been to kc a few times, but never deer lodge!

  10. yes - he does an impromptu set of some kind each time. You will see a sandwich board type sign outside of the diner - it will say something like special guest today - between 3 and 5 or what ever - then its just a case of being there at the right time. We were sunbathing on the grass and noticed the vibe picking up and sure enough - there was the wee blonde mushroom head doing an intimate little set. thing is - i got the giggles as he was reading his lyrics out as poetry..................took myself outside before i upset wee Timmy.
