  1. People need to open their eyes and see the truth, hidden in everyday messages we read all the time.
Anything reported by the "establishment" should be read with a cynic's eye, social media even more so.
Roswell may not have been the start but it was the first.
Anybody with any sense can see it.
    Nobody is safe.
    Orwell was right.
    I believe.
    And so will you...
  2. I agree that Emily will try and do it the same, but whether she's able to will depend on many different things.

The main one is who has ownership &/or control of the farm. It might already be a settled issue for Michael, but for us on the outside we can only speculate how that might pan out.

If, for example, the farm is divvied up amount all of Michael's children, some of those might want a full commercial return which then forces Emily to run things on a more-commercial basis.

The sensible option would be a trust with a board of trustees who elect the management team (i.e. Emily) with the Eavis family as beneficiaries.

As an institution it has grown beyond the immediate family and probably deserves protection in it's own right.

  3. Ooh Firewater, generally a single malt man but ill take what I can get  - nothing better at certain times of the night especially if it's a bit chilly

  4. Also all this "poor Emily" stuff is a bit precious to

my mind. She's well able to handle it. She's a multi millionaire with -to my mind- one of the best jobs on the planet.

It's hard to offer a stranger sympathy, empathy or respect. it means overcoming in-built prejudices, petty hates and jealousy of those you perceive as your betters. Human nature fights against it, self is king.

But you can be better than that if you want or not, it's your choice. Personally I applaud those that can as they seem few and far between

  5. No gun to my head, I booked my ticket in good faith because of the whole event and not just the headliners. However I have my opinion and I have expressed it without directly targeting Emily and without using abuse. I am disappointed and it will be the first year I haven't seen a Pyramid Headliner. Its not the end of the world I have been enough times to know of plenty of hidden gems to take my time.

You do know the Pyramid is a side show? A distraction technique to woo the uninitiated whilst everyone else buggers off to a much better party. :)

Saying that I'll be at Flo for many reasons including my bad taste in music

  6. Insuring small Items is never worth it, you just line the pockets of the insurers with no guarantee of actual payout when you need it (same for T.V., washing machine etc).

If you never get insurance for anything but what you require (house & car & travel for repatriation) and put say £10 a month away in a pot or just rely on your savings then over the course of your lifetime you will save money.

Plus if you are careful the chances are you won't need it.

  7. Ok, well the best thing for the land would be to not have the festival in the first place then, if that's what we are all worried about?

Obviously, but in order to find a compromise between desire & freedom and respect & responsibility we have a festival where the infrastructure is in place to minimise the impact on the environment if everybody does their bit.

All you are asked to do is pee in one of the many toilets and not litter and your reward is the one of the best playgrounds of the summer. It's up to you but the reality is the biggest threat to the festival is the local impact it has

  8. I think everyone is going a bit over the top about weeing. if you need to wee you need to wee, are you telling me after a few drinks most people would wee themselves rather thank wee on the land? Don't get me wrong I don't and wouldn't go out of my way to wee on the land but being at a festival and consuming quite a few drinks... If it was a choice of wetting myself or weeing in a hedge, I'd wee in the hedge.

Bear Grylls says it's ok to drink your wee up to three times before it becomes dangerous so I think in reality it's not the end of the world if the alternative is pissing your pants.

drink it then, or wear a nappy.

With 150000 people it doesn't take a large percentage of people peeing in the water course to destroy the Eco system

  9. Let me tell you my trouble with chains of 18-34 yr old hunter-wearing girls; 3 things happen when they are in a festival, you fall in love with them, they fall in love with you and when you criticize them they cry.

I don't want to stand in the way of girls attending festivals but I am in favour of single sex festivals
