  1. All seems very strange these different posters coming on here and claiming they know the Roses are headlining, unless they are all the same person......

Oh balls to it I have also got my hopes up, sunday headliners will be The Stone Roses.

  2. I'm going to go with Foos / Kanye / Taylor.

They need a big hip hop name given they've missed out on Kendrick and The Roots, and personally I really like Kanye. I suppose Madonna could headline Sunday and if Taylor subbed her that would be very strong as a line up, but I don't think Madge will do it. It could also be TheManWhoMustNotBeNamed but history tells us probably not.

Why do they need a big hip hop name?
  3. Fair enough, I personally think that the media response to the censoring of the performance would have got those artists more attention than if the song had been performed without incident. Damn Madonna and that bloody distracting cape!

Well let's hope so, grime isn't my thing but I hope your right. Still pretty bad for the Brits if the major talking point is Madonna falling over.
  4. No, the censoring would have drawn more attention to it in the press. This is getting dangerously close to the suggestions in the other thread that if black artists want to be less marginalized, why don't they just tone it down and make it more palatable?

Nothing of the sort. I'm simply saying if Kanye wanted to promote them he should of let them be heard.
  5. Obviously Madonna was the main talk of the evening. But still, millions of people will have been watching, and big kanye fans in the Uk/across the world would certainly have become more aware of Hip-hop artists in the UK they might not have known at all beforehand.

If anyone could hear them then maybe but because of all the censoring it was difficult to make out anything. If kanye really wanted to promote UK artists he should of played a song with less swearing so they could be heard.
  6. To be fair, it's not like he knew she was going to fall over. If she hadn't, his performance would have been the main story from the Brits. To be honest, the fact that Madonna falling over got all the attention is kind of a sad indictment.

I think she did it on purpose!
  7. I think most people were just pointing out how it was a nice gesture/point to bring out UK hip-hop artists who deserve some exposure. And it was a big statement to make at the brits, can't recall many other hip hop artists making a similar statement there (please correct me if I'm wrong)

But what percentage of the tv audience realised this was what happened? Kanye was overshadowed by a middle aged woman falling over.
