  1. Anyone know of any dubstep this year? I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's something that can be harder to find these days now the initial buzz has died down. Skrillex was fun the last 2 years, but I don't see any dubstep guys at all this year, excluding Skream of J.E.S.&.S, who seem to be more on the house side of things. I know Annie Mac may play a little, but that's not certain.

Have you listened to Modestep? Depends on how hardcore your tastes are but I love their latest album and they're my Must see slot for this year?

check out the album on soundcloud  https://soundcloud.com/modestep

  2. What a terrible state of affairs when a fantastic band can't be scheduled too high on The Pyramid for fear of taking some morons out of their comfort zone for an hour.

But there is obviously a lot  of thought that goes into the scheduling to ensure that us 'morons' can build up to a crescendo of enjoyment  toward the end of the evening. I'm looking forward to seeing motorhead myself but don't think they would fit in that slot.

  3. Still think Motörhead subbing would be a terrible idea. For many average attendees Motörhead are a novelty act. The Ace of Spades will amuse but the vast majority won't know much else, fine for earlier in the day but disastrous for a sub.

^ what he said ! spot on

  4. Generic POST

Lets have [ Insert favorite band here no matter how unsuitable they are]

Because [insert the previous posters favorite band who were probably equally unsuitable] are total shite

  5. last year was fantastic (Lebanese?) Meze I think its called with stuffed vine leaves and all sorts of stuff , so planning on revisiting that for starters

no idea for last meal - will go with what smells good

  6. BUMP.

The Weather Thread got buried by dozens of people deciding to start new, near-identical, threads about Florence and the Machine. And we can't have that...

A bit like her songs then? (just my personal taste before anyone gets too upset)

  7. oddly I threw our tickets straight in the bin thinking it was the empty envelope and only realised five minutes later, thank (insert deity/superstition here) I didn't need replacements - good luck!

  8. Not sure if it's common knowledge so apologies if I am teaching you all to suck eggs, but Go Outdoors offer a price match (and will beat a cheaper price by 10%.) So, browse their website, find what I want, do a quick search online for a cheaper price (any website but auction sites count) and then head to the shop with the cheaper website details. I saved £50 on a Berghaus gore-tex coat and £40 on Berghaus walking boots. Happy shopping

SAVED £50 good grief I thought my 99p pakamac was an extravagance ! (I know its an old post but ....)

  9. I unwhittingly had a shot of Stroh a few years back. I was feeling tired and about to go home when it was bought for me as a pick me up. Was absolutely floored.

Not taking anything this year as on the coach. Not a massive beer/cider drinker - can anyone recommend bars that sell a range of stuff?

Pernod and cider looks like orange juice - instant annihilation - Just DON'T !!!!

  10. I was pleasantly surprised last year thought everywhere was pretty good - mind you I'm already getting a bit deaf apparently so maybe just compensating for that

  11. Can't see anyone beating gonzo in this competition.

May as well enter a sprint against mr bolt for I'd have the same chance of winning.

Gonzo?? did I miss him on the Billing ?

  12. When I talk to friends and colleagues my taste seems pretty eclectic, when I read these forums it feels pretty mainstream.  Respect to all the posters who highlight interesting new stuff to listen to.

RTJ where exclusively down to reading the forums then going and finding them on Youtube for me!

  13. OK Just a bit of fun but who thinks they have the most eclectic taste in music ? - here's My list of likes/ Clashes currently featuring on my phone's media player in order of distance apart on the musical spectrum and the (probable)  winner of the clash listed first

    Modestep - Christy Moore

RTJ - Lulu (undecided but think Lulu is still in with an outside chance)

Motorhead (not actually on my phone but planning to see them for a laugh) - Jungle

Bare Knuckle Parade - Dub Pistols

    The Who - Chemical Brothers

  14. I think longdrops are one of the greatest festival creations ever. But I do still like the odd trip to the flushables too.

Need to check out the compost ones this year...

Yep I'm a long dropper (so to speak) myself,  a quick walk in the morning while the world is in recovery mode , the clang of metal and the splash of (fairly) distant poop  what better way to start the day
