  1. I hate being so negative but I am a bit dissapointed at this year's line up having already got a ticket. Lacking of dance music and I think two/three well know names short. But frank Turner get in seen him 4 times and every time amazing.

    Disagree with that.

Really at least they are bands who play musical instruments unlike most of acts on V but that is my personal choice.

it's embarrassing that even Latitude festival has better headliners than V festival....

Even more embarrassing is that Kendal calling has way better headliners, (manics, sterophonics and Franz Ferdinand) and the undercard wees all over V plus it is cheaper!

  4. I personally think it is two strong headliners but a very weak undercard, At any festival I much prefer average headliners and a strong undercard than the other way around, It could be just me. PS third year in a row not going to Weston park but to beautiful days instead.

im looking at here or V festival but I live in Devon

I went to v festival for three years and the last two on my own after a mate jibbed out both times. I had amazing times at V especially 2012 an amazing line up but this year's is terrible all bubble gum pop. Weston Park is a lovely site and the site to go for,  and the people when I went were very friendly unlike in some stupid reports you get. PS I live in Mid Devon

  6. It is great to be back anyway I can not find my quote in the thread but I knew frank turner was going to play somewhere at reading festival this year to mark 10 years of reading festival appearance. Nas very good addition to the lineup but the rest pretty average and no bloc party!!!! And another thing I have decided not to go to reading this year crap line up made my decision for me

Yes jess was always going to be a shoe in for it. But having listen to radio 1 for the last few weeks here are my predictions of who will be playing.

Muse will headline as well, Adele a special guest appearance playing a handful of songs for a Glastonbury warm up plus kings of Leon, alt J, Megan tranior, slaves, catfish, little mix, last shadow puppets and of course Annie Mac with Pete tong.

I am gutted I only predicted three acts that are going to play! And only 4 acts on the line up excites me them being coldplay, jake bugg, iggy azalea and last shadow puppets it is a good job I am not going even though it is on my doorstep!

Pyramid headliners aside Glasto have smashed it LCD, Kamasi, Sigur Ros, Floating Points & Grimes to name a few. I'd love to have seen R&L book a few of those slightly more leftfield acts- reckon if they put enough of them in there they'd shift the audience demographic and manage to pull it off (Lana Del Rey & LCD co-headliner anyone???). Still find it madness that T in the Park have LCD and John Grant and that Tame Impala (so far) aren't anywhere to be seen in the UK this summer- I know they're unable to play R&L this year but to have had them on an exclusive perhaps subbing Foals/Disclosure would've been a far greater coup than the mediocre booking of Chvrches (I've come to terms with the idea that they'll be subbing now). Anyway, done rambling.

Well said Conroy I totally agree with you, as Glastonbury and T in the park have proved they are amazing acts willing to do the festival circuit this year and in my option there only less than handful of decent acts at reading and they are still obsese with guitar music especially with average American band like fall out boy co-headling. Sorry for that but rant over.

Looks like there'll be no need for the bus this year. The news on the main page of the site about a bridge looks well exciting... Might even convince me to go again..

Really! Ask yourself what is today's date?

  11. Yes your are tight T in the park pissing all over this reading line up with the likes of Stone roses, LCD, New order, Jake bugg. Faithless, kaiser chiefs. Frank Turner and the last shadow puppets all playing T. And yes I went to reading last year.

And another thing fall out boy must have a bloody good manager to get them a headline slot of a major European festival!

Jake Bugg played 2nd down on NME the same year and subbed main stage the following year so I guess stranger things have happened

I do like jake bugg first album and watch him at a gig in Plymouth and thought he was amazing. But I think his career has taken a bit of a dive being a main stage sub at reading a few years ago to appearing half way down the line up for pop teen fest sorry I meant v festival!

  13. I am going to have my opinion! The headliners are both crap but they is some decent acts on the undercard with the likes of Bastille, kaisers, Jake bugg, faithless, Katy B, Jess glynne, soul 2 soul and Travis. So I will say overall not bad/average line up but could have booked better headliners

  14. I know this is not relevant for the reading forum but do not know where else to write it and I am becoming a regular on here.

Anyway after festival no6 announcement is their any medium-big festival in the uk that Noel Gallagher is not headlining in the U.K it is four and counting. So what does that say about Noel and the state of festival headliners in 2016
