I thought you had been quiet, hope all is well mate!

All is superb! Hope all is well with you too (how could it not be, this week of all weeks).

    You IDIOT!

Lovely to hear from you @willsnewman

You'll be missed, but Terraforma looks excellent. I bloody LOVE Caterina Barbieri...

    Ben

Ha, thanks Ben. ISN'T SHE WONDERFUL. I had a dream a couple of weeks ago in which she was a queen and her entire family was at her beck and call. The whole line up is a dream (and NO CLASHES. Don't know how I feel about going to a festival where I don't have to create a timetable...)

Of course I can't possibly go to a festival without it being some kind of epic pilgrimage so I am getting the train from Glasgow to Milan. Should be pretty sweet.

Hope you all have a fabulous time. Will be thinking of all the E/D crew stomping the night away.

Going to start rounding up the gang for October ticket purchases...

  2. I'm so jealous of you all. Gave Glastonbury a break this year to do something different, but all this chat and excitement has got me longing for the fields of Somerset. I think I will have to be back there next year. IICON!?!?! Enjoy. Fortunately I have Terraforma to look forward to in a couple of weeks so things aren't all bad!

Very jealous of you seeing Szun Waves. They're predictably playing nowhere near me, which is a bummer as the new record is ace. I bloody LOVE Luke Abbott. Saw him play live at Green Man a few years ago and he was incredible - that he played immediately before The Field was a double win.

The Field is someone else I'd really love to see. Still need to listen to his new ish record. Last time I saw Szun Waves I had been on a 4am train before hand and so was constantly trying to stay awake. This time will be different hopefully. Share your love of Luke Abbott; also a huge fan of Portico Quartet so that link is sweet.

Have you seen Giant Swan before?

No. And I've had my fingers crossed for a long time that they'll come to Glasgow so I am suuper happy. Going to be some night.

  4. Sadly giving Glastonbury a miss next year, although was quite nice not to be involved in ticket day... Too mnay other places and things to see and not enough time and money! Got Sonar Reykjavik lined up, and possibly Atonal or Unsound and definitely Skye Live.

Never thought I’d say this but there is genuinely a festival in the UK now that has wowed me as much as glastonbury... and that is houghton

believe the hype, that was one of the best weekends of my life

Wasn't it beautiful. Absolute masterclass of djing and live performance from start to finish from everyone I saw. Pure happiness for 4 days.

  6. Also heading to London next weekend. Primarily there for the Sounds and Visions weekend at the barbican but going to be heading to Spazio Disponibile at Village Underground. First time there too. My ears are going to be very happy.

  7. It was pretty excellent last night. Couldn't have asked for a much better set list really. He was on superb form in my opinion. I'd agree that the sound was a bit poor, but it didn't take away too much from the energy in that place. Dear god I hate that golden circle shit that they have though. Must be horrible to perform to a wee bunch at the front.

I'd say be on the ball just incase. It seems to be a festival that really made it's mark on people for being unique and good - can imagine a lot of people who went last year will be telling their friends to come this year. This will definitely be more popular than last year in terms of ticket sales.

Got our tickets. Super keen for this one. There are so many insane line ups around Europe this year but I'm really looking forward to hiding away in a woods in Norfolk.

I have a ticket to houghton, I hope some of you get a few too

See you at 10am underneath some trees... somewhere

I hope it's not going to be glastonbury level ticket buying on Friday... Do you know how many tickets you can buy at once?

So it's pretty big on the minimal scene (my favourite type of music). Expect very stripped back techno and house... djs playing very very long sets... deep crate digging.

Out of the lineup my personal suggestions would be (in alphabetical order)

Barac, Ben UFO, Call Super, Claro Intelecto, Conforce, DMX Krew, Gatto Fritto, Ivan Smagghe, Jane Fitz, Josh Tweek, Joy Orbison, Luca Lozano, Lukas Wigflex, Margaret Dygas (who i'd highly reccomend), Mathew Jonson, Midland, The Mole, Nicolas Lutz, Objekt, Oli Silva, Pearson Sound, Ricardo Villalobos, Saorise, Shanti Celeste, Sonja Moonear, Voigtmann, Vladimir Ivkovic, Zip.

Check out those and see what you like :) But i'd highly recommend all of them.

Well you've sold it to me. Already a big fan of several of those. :) going to be listening non stop to catch up.

  11. Pretty set on Houghton. Of the names I know on the line up I absolutely love it. Can someone give me an idea of what kind of vibe the line up gives them as a lot of the names are unfamiliar to me..? To me it all seems super interesting left field (not the stage or the band) kind of music and everything else under the sun? Could be wrong of course. I thought I knew my djs...

Yep il be there Will, haven't been out much though. Plannings and bookings for Barcelona and Dekmantel have consumed most of my cash. Four Tet and Nils Frahm coming up though which is much to look forward to.

Glad to see Jennifer Cardini playing subclub in a couple of weeks, should be my first outing of the year there

Yeh I saw that. May venture down. Trying to take it easy as it's been a bit hefty for me since new year. Trying to up my djing game so late nights have been a wee bit too regular... Will also be at Nils, super keen for that.

Houghtons 24 hour licence is very tempted

Mmhmmmmmmm. Hopefully they still have it this year. Been to many Glasgow nights recently Mez? Coming to Four Tet?

What's the general opinion of Lost Village? Line up is bon nice but what about everything else?

  14. I dunno I reckon my body needs a fallow year at the same rate. Think I've got a whole lot more done with my life in the past 4 months because I'm not obsessing over an incoming June. :)

Justice were unbelievable. When I grow up I want to be that cool.

    Good fun wasn't it

Gerd Janson the night after in subclub made for a superb weekend

Ooo don't do that to me! I was so close to going but decided to take it easy the rest of the weekend. Glad it was good though :)

  16. Up there as the best night out I've had on Friday. 4 hours of Talaboman in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery followed by a few hours of Tale of Us at subclub. Insane. Such a good atmosphere, everyone on top form. Closed the night listening to Sasha's Scene Delete on the sofa. Made up for a "nein" at Berghain on Sunday... Anyone here present?

  17. I am super excited about next week. And Shit Robot and Joe Goddard. Heaven. Joe at Glastonbury was a highlight.

If anyone knows of a single spare ticket going for the Tuesday night in Glasgow next week please let me know. My number wan musical adventure buddy hasn't got one and the person who got mine has no spare...
