Met office have touched on Glastonbury in their 10 day trend. Also provide a far better explainer of the Box & Whisker chart than I ever could.

Gist is showers early next week, increasing sign of drier weather into the weekend of the festival itself. Generally warm, especially at night.

    Stick. Perfect festival weather imo.

There concludes my contribution to this years weather thread.

2010 i remember every morning having to get out the tent early, especially considering we were getting back 6-7am. Once it got to about 10/11, the tent was essentially an oven, just going in it for 20 seconds to get something was an experience. Could do with a bit of morning haze/cloud. (Not rain clouds tho!).

This is why you at some point, have to transition to a well insulated camper or caravan.

No rain whatsover in the festival until a few light showers now showing on the Sunday.

    Max Temperature: Monday 21-22, Tuesday 19, Wednesday 20, Thursday 22, Friday 24-25, Saturday 22, Sunday 19-20

    STICK!!!

  4. Shop around, different bars, different prices (and drinks!).

As someone above said, Bimble is always cheap. Crew bars are cheap too if you're a band holder.

Coming in from CV West daily was mainly ok... weds every bag/ bumbag was searched, it then dropped off a bit to occasional searches

Saturday night an utter dick was "in charge" or so he said.. searched every pocket in OH bag and patted him down ( luckily he didn't see the shit OH accidentally dropped on the search table with his ticket!) Then he went through every pocket of my bumbag, opening cigarette packets, portable ashtray etc kept asking me what drugs I'd got and if j handed them over it would all be ok etc etc then he said "I'm not allowed to touch you" yeah mate I'm fully aware of my rights!

Obviously he didn't find anything, felt like telling him it wasn't amarture hour :D

Short haired bloke with a beard right? There was quite a pleasant gingery fella with dreads and a beard who stopped me to search my bag on Saturday. This this other fella came muscling in demanding to know what I had on me that I shouldn't have, getting me to empty my pockets etc. "if you've got something, I WILL find it..." blah, blah. Then noticing I'd left my wallet in my back pocket and being an absolute penis about going through every centimetre of it. Obviously, nothing found, but it wasn't for the want of trying. Asked him if intended to pat me down. When he didn't answer, I grabbed my stuff, gave him a wink and wondered off into the festival.

  6. From the Met Office page:

"Meanwhile the weather is also looking relatively fine and dry for the South West next week ahead of the 43rd Glastonbury Festival. Gates open on Wednesday (25th June) with the music starting on Thursday (26 June).

The Met Office is forecasting sunny spells with plenty of cloud and the risk of an occasional shower during the four day event."

That sounds like almost my perfect festival :)

  7. Those temperatures ruin the whole credibility of the site for me. There's no way the max will be as low as 12 degrees .. That said, it does broadly agree with the theme of the rain moving back a day.

Why? They're "Feels like" temperatures, affected by factors like cloud cover (or not) and wind chill. They are not absolute temperatures. That website is just trying to be clever.

  8. I did the food shop yesterday - as I'm campervanning it, I won't post what I've got on here as it'll only make those in tents jealous :) original Hula Hoops and a can of fat Coke is my number one hang over cure though - I always take those!

  9. My recommendations would be:

    Sunday - Wow!

Kove, Matrix & Futurebound, Sigma, Wilkinson

    Friday - London Underground

    Klute, D Bridge, Calibre, Flight

    Sunday - Arcadia

    Hospitality takeover

Probably some other bits and bobs going on too!

  10. I think it's more a case of managing the flow of people the gates they do have. I arrived around 7am this year into the East car parks. Everyone seemed to be pointed towards gate B and the queue was already immense. We trekked around to gate C instead and there was no queue at all and as per pie_and_a_pint above, we were in with our tent up before the gates were even due to be open.
