  1. Yep still the sh1t n smell it show ground (joke!!), BA46QN

for balance, for the posher amongst us.... the 'Shepton Mallay' show ground ;)

Cheers fella, suspected it would be, last time I was at Glasto was 2013, so just wanted to be sure we're sending out taxi driver the right way!

  2. From past experience, Strummerville is a bit too laid back to have set times days in advance. Sometimes they are chalked up on a board earlier in the day.

Cool, thanks for that. Didn't manage to get Glasto tix last year, so haven't come across it before this year.

  3. Just seen Craig Charles (+ Special Guests) is one of the people listed on this Strummerville flyer for Friday. Can't find any set times, anyone know when he's on? Hope it's later as I'd love to catch some post-headliner Funk n Soul before heading to the SE corner on Friday! Cheers!

  4. 2 hours should be plenty

"should be", whilst he's right, should be fine is never a smart move when you've got a flight to catch, especially if theres an accident on the roads leading to Bristol, can lead to nightmare queues. Not to mention the huge expense of missed flights, I'd give yourself plenty of time!

  5. The problem with 2010 wasn't the rain for me it was that it rained heavily then got warm so the mud was so sticky! Took ages to walk anywhere

erm... you're thinking of 2011 yeah?! 2010 was absolute SCORCHIO!

  6. Hi All,

First ever glasto - CANNOT WAIT!

Have had an absolute mare though - it's a family friends wedding on Sat 27th and I cannot miss it - I will be hung drawn and quartered by my family.

There is a train from castle carey to my home town, leaving at 9.40am on sat 27th. I'm staying in east campervan site. I know theres a shuttle bus to the station from the festival - but when does it start in the morning? can i get to castle carey for 9.40am? where does the shuttle go from? how long does it take?

Or any other bright ideas about how to get to the station??

    Thanks soooooooo much

    Charlie xxxxxxx

Dont go to the wedding, turn your phone off, and deal with the shitstorm when you get back from an awesome festival

  7. this year will be our third in oxylers there's it's a great location

I agree, it's my groups spot of choice too. Very central and easy to get to all the main stages. Easy to locate when worse for wear too, due to it being opposite the Other Stage!

  8. I didn't manage to get tickets in 2014, but I remember in 2013, some helpful soul created a Twitter list (consisting of all the best sources for Glasto info whilst at the festival).

This was incredibly useful to sort through all the noise and general shite of Twitter, so whilst I was there I could easily see what secret gigs were going on and other generally useful info.

So, I'd like to know, if anyone has any idea if someone has a Twitter list going for this years festival? Cheers!

  9. Hi there,

I havent posted for a long time (2011) I was looking for some help. we have a minibus arriving on the site on wednesday morning around 8/9am but i noticed there is a drop off point then a shuttle bus which i want to avoid if i can. Its a 12 seater mini bus. I was wondering if A. Can i park in the normal car park if i was to buy a car park ticket or B. use the taxi drop off point?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, even though it might seem like a hassle changing to the shuttle bus. You get a huge benefit in that you'll be given 'green traveller' benefits!

What this basically mean is you get in the fast-track queue and get some money off vouchers for food.

Last year I was in within 20mins of the gates opening! Whereas I have mates who drove, which took several hours!

  10. Should I panic that the Royal Mail track and trace number I've got isn't working at the moment?

Definitely shouldn't panic - ticket now in hand :)

Exactly haha, Royal Mail are very slow to update tracking for their shipments, coming from somebody who's used them extensively for their business!

  11. They have put this page up on the website. Doesn't clarify whether we can swap the new Power Bars, but does say we wont be able to swap last years

    http://ee.co.uk/ee-and-me/entertainment-sport/music/glastonbury

A prime reason not to get one of these low capacity, frankly pointless EE powerbars (even if you did get it for free). It's far wiser to just buy a proper solid power pack. Which you can use year after year without wondering if EE are going to allow you to trade it in at next years Glasto!

    I personally recommend this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/mobile-phones/dp/B00F5Q4F0U!

  12. San Miguel is stretching decent beer a bit....granted better than San Miguel!

For Tuborg?! I'd switch to the cloest Spoons, at least you getting a half decent tasting "craft" pint for that!

But yeah think its down to being a Londoner, that I am a bit meh on the prices andreluctantly pay it when its something I like. (Actually started using the main bars last year with the addition of Thatchers Gold!)

Food is expensive where ever you go, but you can better value in general away from the main stages (Despite the last couple of years efforts in trying spread them about a bit more). Though you do have a couple of really good deals around, like 2 quid fried egg bap at Fluffy Rock Cafe!

I concur, however San Miguel is bloody liquid gold compared with Tuborg... All relative in the Somerset fields!

  13. bar near acoustic ice cold san Miguel not sure if was £4 or £4.50 a pint..... much better than Tuborg

wow, I know I said "Cold shite beer > hot cans of nice beer", but of course an ice cold DECENT beer trumps all!

Will defo have to check that out, an ice cold San Miguel would be divine!
