Not that Blink are the worst band in the world, but given they headlined 4 years ago, don't seem to have the greatest live reputation and to the best of my knowledge aren't even that big at the moment, can't say I'm very impressed. Jake Bugg back as well, just no

Enjoying Mechanical Bull actually, best thing they've done since Because of the Times I reckon, although Come Around Sundown was hardly a hard act to follow

i seem to be the only person who doesn't 'get' pearl jam, few great singles but vast majority of their stuff just seems to be dirge

Well if you are surprised by my reaction I hate to think what you would think if I was actually wound up. I have no time for junkies but classing Doherty as one of them and putting his behavioural problems down to that is wrong. He doesn't act like he does because he is a junkie, it's merely a symptom of the maggot infested dog turd of a personality that he has. I do actually think the world would be a much better place if all junkies were wiped out with some super strength strain of what ever shit they are on. Yes I realise that not all of them chose to take their path but try explaining that to the victims of their robberies, muggings, infections or mess. In Doherty's case however, I'd quite happily buy him a double dose myself just to make sure the fucker got enough.
you're a complete wrong'un mate that's vile

I went babyshambles in manchester and it was a right fucking laugh, yes he was on another cloud but somehow his energy was still incredible, yes the setlist was short but at least he had the decency to come back and finish with shambles' 2 biggest hits (kilimangiro and fuck forever) before collapsing and proceeding to destroy all his equiptment haha. Also when he threw the mic into the crowd I caught that, so thats a nice little bit of pete memorabilia for myself!

paramore are fuckin shite hahaha

I went to Leeds and this is my reckoning of the best bands I saw.
1. Biffy Clyro - Absolutely smashed it, fantastic crowd, superb setlist, unrivalled passion in played. Looked like they belonged up there and deserved every second of it.
2. System of a Down - Brilliant performance, all the band looked like they were having fun which apparantly isn't always the case so that's good, well picked setlist and mental crowd, shame that Reading's wasn't as good so I've heard
3. Chase and Status - Always heard good things about their live show, didn't disappoint, stuck near the back because of the massive crowd and had a right laugh dancing about for the whole set
4. Johnny Marr - Surprise of the weekend, didn't expect that much but he was brilliant, his solo stuff was great and very well recieved by the crowd. I don't want to sound like a cliche but the smiths stuff was absolutely magical, the tent completely packed out joined in unison singing how soon is now and there is a light, was very special honestly.
5. Eminem - Again another surprise, not much of a fan but I figured it would be more entertaining than alt-j. Was in the middle of the crowd so couldn't see much and therefore comment on the miming allegations but personally I had a great time, whole set was full of energy and fun, Dido coming out for Stan was spine-tingling and then the my name is-the real slim shady-without me medley was a real highlight.
6. Nine Inch Nails - From what I'd heard about the live show on these boards I won't lie I was a bit disappointed, I can understand now why having seen the furore on twitter but still. Don't get me wrong though what a show, not seen many acts more intense than that! Would've just benefitted from Copy of A Come Back Haunted Closer and Hurt though I think.
7. Editors - Have been waiting to see these for a long time and will be seeing them on the upcoming tour. Great live band, crowd was really into it and the setlist, albeit short, was just hit after hit after hit. The only thing was after the set I was left wanting so much more, they seemed so wasted playing 5th down in the sun with only 8 songs, can't wait to see a full set of theirs in the dark.
8. Foals - Seen them before and only caught half the set, great tunes, good fun played very well and all but some of the intensity of the songs seemed lost on the main stage, I feel an NME headline set rather than 3rd on mainstage would've been a lot better. I'm possibly being a bit harsh because I'd jut come from Marr's storming set, but it wasn't the killer set I expected.
9. HAIM - Went knowing only 2 songs and came out a full on fan. Oh and I think I might be a bit in love with the bassist. Lots of passion put into the performance, good singalongs and great opportunity for a dance. Eagerly awaiting their coming album.
10. Peace - Similar to HAIM but not quite as good. Still, was quite surprised at how accomplished the performance was given their fledgeling band status, decent production on the stage as well. Felt there was a bit of a lull in the middle of the set, but quickly regained the crowd and finished with a bang.

after biffy i found some dude face down t in a ditch in what seemed to be a small alcove, net to a group of binns, the whole area was empty bar one guy putting something in the bin, asked him to help me carry this guy to welfare tent, he literally went fuck off and walked off. im 17 and there i am carrying this 23 year old guy who as it transpired is in the army to a pharmacy where he comes round. what the pharmacists think happened was he was spiked with something, the guy cant do drugs cos obviously of army drug tests and yet his jaw was pretty much falling out his arse and his eyes spent most of their time in the back of his head, got him to welfare eventually was pretty mingin though, just a bit scary that people will spike randomers for a laugh, if he'd stayed face down in a ditch all night i dunno how bad he would've got, but hey ho it's a festival these things happen i guess, any deaths are still very tragic though

i got a biffy setlist from the leeds set, proudly stuck up on my wall next to the biffy leeds poster from nme
-
40 Fosters for £26, a bottle of "Joseph Meizers" (knock off Jager) for £9 and a pinched bottle of Disaronno from my parents and I reckon I'm all set
-
Be class if Leeds got a secret set like Green Day at Reading last year, Radiohead/Atoms For Peace please!!! Wishful thinking much haha
-
I'm taking 30quid so I can afford a burger a day and an emergency pack of fags hahahaha pikey life, i'm taking in like 50 cans and spirits though so should be alright
-
Get rid of a few of the songs from Opposites and give us 57, Glitter & Trauma, Jaggy Snake, Folding Stars and Machines plsssssssssss
-
Is it just me that's hugely pissed off that Biffy are only getting a 1h 30m set??? They'd completely smash a 2 or 2 and a half hour set, they'll miss out so many quality songs out of their set, gutted

Nine inch nails announce warm up gig for R&L at London Scala on August 20th if anyone's interested http://www.nme.com/news/nine-inch-nails/71885?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=iTunesFestival

oh and SIAS is awful, humbug is their best, very closely followed by the debut, FWN is very good in some parts and very bad in some parts, most of the album has become quite annoying now though
-
My mate won Arctics tickets and is taking me with him........ o yeah
-
because they're arrogant and act like liam fray is god and if you say anything like "I don't even think the courteeners are that good" they'll go off on one about how shit your music taste is etc.
-
they're boring but i actually find them really funny at the same time, it's plainly obvious that at least one of them has shared an awkward morning conversation with a goat off their farm at some point
-
I don't even like the Courteeners but fucking hell if people are enjoying themselves then what's the problem?
-
i love the courteeners but 99% of the courteeners fans need fucking culling my twitter timeline is fucking full of them watching them at t in the park on telly and acting like they've just seen hendrix at woodstock or something, how about no. the fans should have bad names because they're all morons, worse than the likes of beliebers because they act like them but seem to believe they have divine right to do so because the courteeners are supposedly the best thing since oasis so therefoe the best thing since ever and they are geniuses for realising this!!! no

We had the same conundrum last year, the answer's simple, send your parents to get them and text your results to you. It is not worth having anything like that of value on site for you to worry about, anything could happen to any of your shit and you don't want your weekend ruined by something happening to your results
-
i can't stand the sight of example he's a fucking c**t and his music sucks ass, one of the worst excuses for an artist about today.

I don't think I've ever seen an artist sober
Lineup 2014
in Reading & Leeds Festivals

Feel free to shoot me down but at Leeds the crowds for the aformentioned acts (SOAD, The Cure, NIN) wasn't crap at all. Maybe the crowd at Reading it just poorer than the crowd at Leeds in general? Maybe I'm just being stereotypical? But it does seem that way.
