When looking at Green Day dates on Ticketmaster, Lytham Fest comes up to purchase tickets?
-
Shikari are weird ain’t they, brilliant band, but when they try and do a bigger tour it doesn’t sell well.
I remember when they done Cardiff arena years back I’ve never seen the arena so empty, barely a quarter full.

Bad Omens are headlining the second stage on the Friday. Andy Copping said so on the Kerrang Breakfast Show yesterday.
I like Bad Omens but are they really that big? Have they done a full size sold out academy tour over here? I’m sure they have history being abit diva like.

Who is the saturday headliner?
Fall Out Boy

Are we fully ruling out Limp Bizkit and Turnstile at this point?

This. A big enough band with a strong enough undercard can sell out any festival
Pearl jam, chillis, Springsteen, ACDC, Foos, RATM, Rammstein, Metallica, GNR and green day could do it with their eyes closed
Even bands that don't play the UK often but aren't as big like Tool, Paramore, Blink, System could get a big chunk of sales, but download opts for bands that come to the UK every year and play their own arena shows in anyway, kiss, Def lep, maiden, biffy, Bring me, and Shikari. It's bizarre.
Funny you mention Shikari, they are still yet to be given a main stage slot at Download.

Aye. Download should have booked Green Day and Foo Fighters and let them do their own shows too. I mean we don't know what happens behind the scenes but it should have at least been proposed to those bands.
And Download would have still probably sold out even with them having their own tours booked.

Bit of a pants (rumoured) lineup in all honesty. Pantera is probably the only band of note, and I bet they will end up doing their own show at the forum or something
I love going to download but it's impossible to get friends to come when half the big name bands that play have played the UK multiple times in the last 3 or 4 years.
It feels to be that download targets people who go to 1 festival a year, no indoor gigs and that's that. But in reality a metal/rock head will go to loads of gigs in a year and probably see their favourite bands when they come around. For example fallout boy just done a massive tour, no chance anyone who actually wanted to see them realistically missed that. Same for QOTSA.
Hard to justify when the 3 or 4 bands you want to see end up being spread over the weekend almost on purpose so a day ticket isnt viable either
It's so frustrating. They've got the funds from a sell out last hears, loads of great bands are touring next year but somehow still mess it up
They just need to scrap the if you got a tour booked you can’t headline rule, it’s sh*t and it’s why we haven’t seen the likes of Foos, Green Day, Blink, RHCP at Download.

Few issues with that leaked poster is as I said above it states Pantera first UK show in 20 years when it would be 23 years (I think) and Lonely The Brave have hinted they are being announced whilst they ain’t on the poster, and some of the order of the bands names are wrong, I think the poster last year that got leaked looked more legit as it had draft all over it and wasn’t as clear as this one now, guess we’ll see soon enough anyway.

Didn’t Pantera last play the UK in 2001? The posters says 20 years but it’ll be 23 years come next June.

In the Pinkpop topic, someone has posted that the promoter of Jera Festival has basically confirmed them for Pinkpop. Think it’s likely they’ll be in Europe next June but unlikely they’ll be at Download now
Could they headline 2000 Trees?

Limp Bizkit have no European dates at all though. Loads of us were really hoping for them but just looks like they're not about this time
Wes posted they would be back in the UK next year so not sure where they’ll pop up, unless they’re going to announce an arena tour instead, 10 years since they last played Download.
-
Limp Bizkit for Knotfest or R&L on the Blink day then.
-
While She Sleeps out as it looks like they’ll be at Download.

i believe Heilung are even big enough to sub second at a push, Polyphia must be headlining Avalanche. People are really understimating the size of those bands
Don’t talk about underestimating sizes of bands when half the people on here questioned Fall Out Boy headlining after just shifting 100K tickets, same with I Prevail last year people questioned if they were big enough to play 3rd down after selling out an academy run and Wembley Arena, I have no idea how big Bad Omens are over here have they done a full size academy run even?
-
Who’s the band next to Bowling For Soup? And are Bad Omens that big for a 3rd down main stage slot?

They're leaving the fanmade ones alone
Fair enough, probably real unfortunately then.

Very happy with this, especially with Pantera. Seems to be real as the Download Facebook group is suspending people that post it
That could be just so people don’t get the wrong information on who’s playing and then buy a ticket for it to be completely different.

If that’s it I’m probably out or volunteer closer to the time. Was hoping/expecting Avril and she’s the only act that would’ve pulled me in. I wonder where she’ll end up UK wise…. Wouldn’t mind seeing Sum 41 on their last tour but think that’ll be announced after this for next November alongside their Paris show. Everything on there I’ve either seen or will be watching at Rock Im Park.
Do you think they’ll do a full tour over here or a one off London date? Seems that Paris show is an arena and sold out.
-
I’m sure Limp Bizkit said they’d see the UK next year, looks like they won’t be doing Download so wonder where they’ll end up?
-
Shame it’s not looking like Limp Bizkit will play, 10 years now since they last played?
-
In no order
Limp Bizkit
Sum 41
Fightstar
Machine Head
Electric Callboy
Good Charlotte
Knocked Loose
Turnstile
Trophy Eyes
Driveways

The thing I Like about Shikari is they have no massive egos, they love what they do and they always deliver live, I have seen them 5/6 times and they’ve never disappointed even in a tiny crowd in an arena to which Rou jokingly said 'Making arena shows intimate’ due to the lack of attendance, similar to Broco the bigger venues they do don’t sell as well due to how much they tour I guess, but there’s no way Shikari play lower than a 3rd down main slot.
