  1. You didn't actually pay for this ticket though, you got it for free in a competition. I just think it's a bit cheeky asking money for it, you're just selling it for your own gain. If you don't need/want the ticket then tell the Guardian that you don't want it and they'll contact someone else who has entered the competition.

  2. I know it's slightly different, but I've been to V for the last 6 years and it's the same there but it really pisses me off having to a) carry empty water bottles to refill B) having to go out of my way in order to refill and c) pre planning to have enough water for the evening and night in the tent (I drink at least one bottle during the night) and I've been caught short a couple of times when I haven't taken water and had to get dressed at 4am to go and find some! I think for me it's ease more than anything although I probably will refill on site as well when I get down to the last few!

  3. It's either:

    - 12 x 330ml Koppaberg Pear, 12 x 440ml Strongbow and a litre bottle of vodka.

    or

    - 20 x 440 Strongbow and a litre bottle of vodka.

Not sure I can survive a whole weekend on warm Strongbow though!

I usually take a hipflask of vodka with me in my bag and buy coke from the bars and top it up with alcohol. Might buy the 500ml or 1ltr bottles of coke and just pour my spirits into that instead, might be easier?

  4. I've been to gigs before where there have been so many cameras that I can't see the stage. I'm quite small anyway so having a camera blocking my view just adds to the frustration. Fair enough if you want a momento of the gig, but don't stand there filming the entire set! I'd prefer to have fun and appreciate the music than see it through a phone screen. I don't see the point of filming at festivals such as Glastonbury as it's all on TV/youtube this year anyway!

  5. I think the system Glastonbury have in place at the moment is fair. If you really want to go to Glastonbury, you would know that you need to register your ticket in advance and when the ticket date/balance day is. It's just the luck of the draw on ticket day, and I've seen a lot of people moan about the system but it's either that or get your ticket for inflated prices from touts (Viagogo/ebay)

  6. I think that the list from the other thread is WAY too much. I just take what I need. I've learnt from past festivals what I really don't need. Saying that I'll probably pack too much again!

I'm pretty much following this list this year http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/advice/packing-list

    But also including:
    Bug spray

    Make up

    Hairbrush

    Mirror

    Welly socks

    Dry shampoo

Tote bag (to carry booze/essentials around site)

  7. Pretty much everyone I tell about Glastonbury (apart from the friends who have been to Glastonbury before) didn't have any idea about the arrangement on getting tickets, they all assumed it's like other festivals where you can get them any time of year.

  8. I'm getting to Glastonbury at the same time Wednesday as you, from what I've heard queues are generally better at the time. I'd prefer that than getting no sleep because of getting up at 2am, not being able to sleep on the coach, queueing for hours to get in just to get a camping spot. You're going to get a camping space no matter what, just not in your perfect place.
