  1. You could still be spot on about the NME(now just the radio 1 stage) needing there own announcement because they are that big. One of them is announced tonight

With it being Zane's show I have a feeling it's The Black Keys, possibly Biffy.

  2. Seems to be alot less dance acts than previous years, i'm not much a dance fan myself but if there is an announcement tonight i'd expect it to be more dance orientated going on previous years.

As for the NME headliners its hard to really pick from that line up, given Kraftwerks placing i'd suspect them to be headling NME one night, Dizze was another possibility but given his position on the poster I can't see it.

  3. Just heard a mate say this as well about stereophonics. They must be a stick on for a sub spot or NME header. They'd do great against Rihanna.

Watching them then Eminem a couple of years back is one of my best memories of my 5 T's.

Also heard a bit of their new single, sounds great.

Edit: Hope we don't lose them to rockness.

  4. Whilst some of the bands mentioned may not be likely the original point was that M&S are one of the biggest bands in the world, not just for T's demographic which I was arguing against.

Also, if Rage can headline, why not Metallica or Linkin Park? Probably more mainstream than Rage were.

  5. Rolling Stones - Would be good but never gonna happen.

U2 - Would be good but never gonna happen.

    Radiohead - Not T's demographic

    Muse - Not doing fests.

Arcade Fire - Not T's demographic

Kings Of Leon - Most people don't want them.

Arctic Monkeys - Played to recently.

    The Killers - Playing.

Blur - Not doing UK fests.

The Strokes - Didn't headline last time can't see them doing it this time.

Guns N Roses - Too risky.

    Coldplay - Played to recently.

    Green Day - Possibly

    Linkin Park - - Not T's demographic

    Kasabian - Played to recently.

    Metallica - Not T's demographic

Snow Patrol - Played to recently.

Stone Roses - Played to recently.

The Who - Would be awesome.

The Cure - Not T's demographic

Foo Fighters - Played to recently.

Bruce Springsteen - Not T's demographic (according to Geoff)

    RHCP - Wellllll past it.

That's just ones I listen to. Probably more that I don't.

  6. On average I only go and see 1 main stage headliner each year at TITP. This year will probably be Mumford & Sons so im not to bothered at the moment. Hoping for plenty of depth come Febuary and strong dance acts for NME/King Tuts and Slam Tent.

  7. are you sure about that ...

same with paolo nutini. he was the 3rd i thought, but really why should he accept sub when he has done just as much as mumford and sons ...

imagine it was last year. would noel have ever accepted a sub spot while mumford headlined ?

it'll be interesting to see the february announcment to say the least

  8. In fairness, I've got Mumford, Rihanna who I would see again, Jake Bugg, of Monsters and Men out of that. Being my only time I'll go, kinda looking at trying to find headliners on a few different stages to vary it a bit so with Mumford I have one.

Don't think that's a too bad start. I did think, Mumford - bit underwhelming, but I realise they are huge and sell more tickets than most right now, went for tickets for their uk tour and didn't get so this is kinda nice. Part of it doesn't seem right but other part you know they are big enough, I like their stuff and if honest I'd rather this and be fresh than the repeats of others.

As said, KOL, Muse and Blur out

I still wouldn't say The Killers are defo on and I don't think it'll be Biffy

  9. According to Mumford's website they are playing the Friday. Friday traditionally has always had weaker headliners so we shouldn't be that surprised.

Rihanna would probably headline the Saturday hopefully leaving us open for a massive act to close the weekend, key word hopefully. Although with Muse, Blur, KOL all out the running it seems like it will be one of The Killers or Green Day unless they shock us with something unexpected.

Having said that whilst I find the announcement so far a bit under whelming, it's very much a sensible booking by Geoff.
