Oh calm down, I think it's a great booking. He's incredibly hard to see live nowadays and despite what you say I think he'll be a huge ticket shifter - you should have seen my twitter timeline when it was announced. And what do you mean ' It's not exactly new because he headlined in 2001'.... that was 12 years ago! Compared to how often acts repeatedly headline the same festivals nowadays, that's a fucking long time! I think they may balance this out with a heavier rock act - Black Sabbath - and then have an indie headliner - Mumford/ Biffy (I know they're on the borderline). Which I think would be a strong set of headliners. Also think some people need to get used to the fact that RnL aren't going to be stuck in 1991 forever, and that they will have to appeal to the current, and more diverse, audience.

Low but if they are over in the summer they have a good chance of subbing I reckon
-
I know I tend to be the annoying newbie with a severe lack of knowledge, but what do you think are the chances of Blink headlining? I know it was only 3 years ago so i'm assuming very unlikely

Would absolutely love for this to happen!

Oops sorry, was I a little bit late there?
-
The Killers are headlining T in the park!
-
What do you think are the chances of them playing any UK festival?
-
I know it's unlikely but what do people think are the chances of Jay Z and Kanye (Watch The Throne) headlining RnL?
-
I have indeed heard of, and really like, Alt-J but I just don't think they're big enough to headline the NME stage. They would be a good sub but I just think the bump up to headliner from not even appearing on it last year is too much in one go. Plus, if DM and Sabbath headlined it would definitely put me off - I wouldn't mind if there were indeed strong NME headliners to make up for it, but i don't think i'll be paying £200 if the rest of the NME headliners are about as strong as Alt-J. I'm 17, and don't mind Wiley but I don't think Wiley/ Skepta etc. should be the acts aimed at the younger age ranges, as it doesn't particularly appeal to me. Hmm, I know it's only an early announcement but it's very disappointing.

Last guess;
Biffy Clyro
Bloc Party
Arctic Monkeys
Mumford
Sabbath

Don't mean to be annoying, but i'm I guess what you might call R/L 'target audience' i.e 16-25? and I know that if it was Sabbath and SOAD, it would put me and a lot of people I know off - I do like some heavier stuff but in this era I feel this is maybe a bit too heavy for a younger audiences tastes? Just a thought

Jay-Z and Kanye would be immense. Don't think they're really R/L material though.

Hope R/L manage to nab Arctic Monkeys and they don't end up at V fest. Still haven't seen them live!

New to this, so please don't laugh at me!
My ideal Leeds 2013 line-up, taking into account everything people have said on this thread:
Arctic Monkeys
Bloc Party
Biffy Clyro
Mumford And Sons (despite incredible record sales, still don't feel like they have a large enough status to headline)
Blink-182 (I know this is extremely unlikely but oh well)
The Libertines (also unlikely)
With hopefully other appearances from Spector, Of Monsters And Men, Lostprophets, Bastille, Azealia Banks, Chase & Status, Band Of Skulls, Madness and Daughter. And Jamie T???? Will you please come back!
