It’s been pretty poorly expressed in this thread, but I think the lack of ‘edginess’ people are lamenting can be pretty well summed up and understood by the majority on this forum by the following:
Glastonbury pre the super fence = edgy
Glastonbury post the super fence = less edgy
There’s plenty on this forum who feel the festival lost something when it lost all the ‘mushrooms, ecstasy, lsd’ stalls and guys walking through the crowds and campsites selling cans and weed and ‘sold out’ commercially, to an extent.
Edgy in this case surely means bordering on the edge of decency / legality / acceptableness / dangerousness. It’s doesn’t necessarily mean sexual assault, but I suppose that could be included, although I’m sure we can all agree that that is one thing we happy to see the back off at gigs and festivals. However, illegal mushroom stalls and dodgy geezers breaking people in though the fence pre 2000 are viewed through slightly rose tinted spectacles, understandably, though that couldn’t continue, for obvious reasons

Oh my, a pint of Deya at Glastonbury would be the dream! Throw in some Verdant or Polly's and I'd be a happy lady!
We went to Big Foot festival last year which is a hybrid beer and music festival, only very small and organised by Verdant I think. They had a Verdant tent, a Deya tent and a couple of beer tents set up like beer festivals with loads of breweries set up. Was really good until they basically ran out of beer by the last day haha

As of 2019 my routine changed. It is now…
1. Wake up when the milk tractor is doing the rounds
2. Nip the coop for several bags of ice
3. Make pint of White Russian
4. Sit at camp and drink said White Russian.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 ad infinitum until feeling better/too hammered to care anymore

Ha, it's a small world. I run with Mikkeler RC and you very kindly came along a couple of months back to talk about your run across the states. Inspirational stuff, hope you're well

Did a write up of food traders for a brunch booking website based on some personal experience and recommendations from this thread, linked below

Have you got one at a lower resolution, Gnomy?
That's just all a bit too clear and well-defined for me.

I'm usually pretty good at a magic eye. Just hold it really close to your face and then slowly move it away while remaining unfocused

V Festival had a Dominos on site 10 years ago

Watched Lionel Richie on the TV and was really taken by how much fun he looked like he was having. Not a huge fan or anything but the crowd looked to absolutely bouncing and having a great time so gutted to have missed it.

if you are worried about the weather
then you shouldn't have gotten a ticket
it's a UK festival , the chances are it will be wet, get over it , had some of the best years during wet years
And if it's crowded, all the better
Because we know we're gonna be up late
But if you're worried about the weather
Then you picked the wrong place to stay
That's how it starts- 3

Just found out a mate of mine is working on a curry stall this year, Bangra Bus (?). Anyone know this one? May be new. He's not been before.
That's my wife's friends, they've been there for a few years, definitely since 2016

Its like looking at a stage frame like Park or Other and seeing just the stage frame. Add lights, projectors, lasers, fire, boomy stuff, lightning, dancers, acrobats and some fucking loud music and you won’t see the crane as a frame i’m sure.
Did they not mention they have a Cold War era radome? Can imagine that on top of the crane looking like some kind of art deco lamp with stuff being projected onto it...

I got a great paneer curry from a bus, somewhere in the central market area, I'm sure I could find it again, but the name escapes me. It was lovely
I think that might be the Bhangra Bus. It's owned by some of my wife's friends and has been mentioned to us by a few of our friends as being brilliant without them knowing we know the owners. Veggie and vegan menu

Tame Impala
Chemical Brothers
The Streets
Would really liked to have seen Hot Chip after missing 2015 but going up against the Chems is no contest unfortunately.

1. LCD Soundsystem (Other 2016)
Made traipsing through the mud for 5 days worth it
2. Justice (West Holts 2017)
Capped off 5 days of the best weather and reaffirmed just how good a sunny festival can be
3. Chemical Brothers (Other 2011)
I'm a Chems fanboy anyway but this was just insane
4. Underworld (West Holts 2016)
Absolutely brilliant performance from Karl and Rick
5. Plump DJs (Arcadia 2013)
Despite the ridiculous placing of the Spider this year, this set was a brilliant

Although to be fair it's their festival. They can do want they want as far as I'm concerned. I don't have to like it though.
That's true enough and I'm fine with them attempting to control the media they can feasibly expect to.
Wicked faerie's panoramics are, however, something they can't control and they've just come up with some nonsense reason to try and do so. Dishonesty is never a good look imo
It's just a bit off really

Let's not forget that someone died during the construction/testing of Arcadia last time...
...you can understand their sensitivity to cameras being fixed on what must be one of the most potentially dangerous areas of the festival
Then surely turn the webcam off rather than stop someone taking a static panoramic photograph. This is nothing to do with H&S and everything to do with controlling the media released about the festival.
See also the glastomap website

Seems like nonsense to me, they're encouraging people to go onto the site by holding the festival, and let's not forget, they posted an Arcadia teaser video yesterday!
Why not just be honest and say it's because they don't want the new structures to be revealed in a higher definition than the webcam instead of hiding behind H&S?
In the United Kingdom there are no laws forbidding photography of private property from a public place.

Had Werther’s Original infused Vodka at Reading last year: tasted lovely but everyone around me kept calling me an old man. I’m 20.
I've also done the Werther's one, added 50g of dark chocolate too. Was great a drinkable straight but maybe book the dentists for when you get back from the festival...
